Perfect optics for swiss arms

Yea I reload already for 223 and it makes shooting much cheaper. So don't do a 2.5x16 then on this rifle .tooo much huh

Depending on what you fancy, and what distance you want to shoot with it. 16 power is not wasted on these rifles shooting past 500m.

OK sooo I did it it I finally saved saved saved and bought myself a swiss arms classic green...now I have about 1000 to spend on optics for this rifle ....any suggestions????? Iam not good at picking optics myself but I was thinking a Millett 1-4 DMS or a 6500 2.5x16x42 or 4200 1.25x24 ???? what do you think you guys have anything better in mind for my budget.

Bobbyhill. I use the Aimpoint comp m4 on the CQB and a nightforce 1-4x24 NP-1 reticle on the Carbine (17 inch barrel) larue QD 104 mount. Love the NF as it gives me the magnification I need but still functions as a red dot as its true 1 power, not 1.5 or 1.1 so can shoot with both eyes open. Its the perfect setup in my opinion. If you need more magnification look at the NF 2.5-10x24 or 32. NF glass is crystal crystal clear. You will never look back. Its a bit more than your budget but you can often find them for 1200 barely used. I use the Leupold Mark 4 4.5-14x50 on the Classic Green, its plenty of scope but not near as fun or versatile as the NF.

I use the Trijicon ACOG T1A3F (chevron reticle) and find it works well with a Kyle Precision Rail... I don't get Cowitness but am not too concerned.

My next Swiss Arms (a CQB) will just get an Aimpoint T1.

Co-witness was a big factor in choice for me too..

Well the problem I am having is finding rings that are high enough to mount a scope properly and I quickly learned today that I will need to by a cheek rest (aghhhh more money)... I have a shorty AR 15 with an eotech on it. I bought the swiss arms to get a little further out there so I want some magnification for sure. The night force 1-4x24 NP (just looked at it) is really nice but too much money for me right now. I am really considering the millet dms 1-4 as a good option for now. anyone use this , what do you think??? Also whats the best place to get swiss arms accessories? But I am really happy with my purchase of the swiss arms I actually got to see an xcr yesterday for the first time and its pretty nice trigger is good too But .....its not a swiss arms...... OHH s**t I think I am addicted now i think I see a cqb coming soon lol

I just put a Millet DMS-1 1x-4x on my Classic Green and I love it. I used the Kyle Precision 0 MOA rail and Burris tactical scope rings too. I had to remove my rear sight turret and the scope just barely squeaked in there. If you choose this scope buy higher rings than I did. I use this between 0-400 yards and it works great. This is a cheap optic for such a rifle, but it works well. Sorry for the low quality picture.

looks great man but I want to keep my rear sight on it for now... Now when you say cheap what do you mean???? Is the price cheap or is it POS optic??? Thanks CanAm But i tried to buy a scope from them before and they said they don't ship to Canada ...maby rings are different.

The Millet scope is cheap as in "not expensive", rather than cheap as in "crap". Any optic that is only 10% of the cost of the gun it's on is "cheap" (the DMS1 will set you back around $300), but it's a good scope nonetheless and a great place to start in a variable power optic. It's cheap but it's also a bargain for what you get. If you decide to ditch it later for something high-end like the S&B short dot that $300 is a drop in the bucket.

Remember a scope doesn't make YOU more accurate - it only lets you see your target more clearly. If you can't make up your mind on the perfect optic, grab something basic like the Millet and get some range time to help you figure out exactly what your needs are.

My advice, as always, is "shoot before you shop". :D

Yeah, I didn't want to take the rear sight off, but I had to. I bought mine for 300.00 before taxes. No way is this a POS optic. I looked over a lot of scopes, but this one was priced right and works great, it also has a great reticle. The only reason I say cheap is because some people put $2000+ optics on their Swiss Guns. Which is great if you can afford it, to each their own.

I use mine for hunting and target practice around the farm, no competitions or other people to show off to;). The best way to know what optics to get is to go and look at them yourself, only you know what you want.

ADM recon mount will clear the rear sight assembly. You'll need a cheek piece as well, and the Airsoft ones are inexpensive.

Your right man thats what I am going to do. Thanks Bud

DB19 what kind of groups are you getting with this optic and what bullet weight does your rifle like???

I just bought it about a week ago so I haven't had much range time with it. I have only used the cheap ammo in this so far, it shoots well with 55 grain Hornady training ammo though.

At 100 yards the best I got off of the bipod was 1-1.5" groups. I can hit a 6'' gong continuously at 200 yards and that's all I need. I haven't gone any further on paper with it, but it could still shoot the gongs out to 450 too. If I had proper ammunition and a good rest, this gun would do much better.

DB19,
who sells the Millet in Canada, and where is it made?

**EDIT**

Sorry, I was thinking of the rail at first. I got it from a local retailer called Corlanes, but you could probably find somewhere online that sells them. It's made in China, but its pretty high quality for a China made product.

You could avoid the height/riser issue by buying the flat-top version....
