Petawawa Gun Club Presents Sharpshooter 2015 Sept 26,27

Another great event hosted by the Petawawa Gun Club! Many thanks again to Jamie, Morgan, and the crew that were out this weekend helping to pump through all us shooters!

and Thump_rrr...that was me honking at you guys just outside of Renfrew on the drive back

I shot horrible today, I trusted a calculator app solely and obviously I punched something in wrong or I wasted money downloading StrelokPro when the free one worked pretty good despite it not having my reticle. I was consistently shooting high, and went with my gut instinct too late to salvage a half respectable score. Now I'm trying to be more positive about things......

1. My bore is good and dirty again after cleaning it when I installed a muzzlebreak. So now I can evaluate if this thing is actually helping me.

2. My rifle is actually 0 to 100m and not a guess of 100m which back in March turned out to be way too high. I wish to apologize to a nameless gunclub (not the base) for a wicked tight group shot at 400 metres.....into their lane marker sign. I didn't mean it.... Honest.

3. I got more stickers for my gun cabinet, and a rifle magazine that I have to sell because apparently my AI magazine and bottom metal are different then what is commonly sold now. (older variant perhaps)

This was worth the time to go to again, JD and crew did a fantastic job! DL can go screw himself for the "Know your Scope" serial that I believe he created. That really opened my eyes that I need to get rid of linear measurement and estimation and focus on the units of measure of the scope itself.... I hate you, but I learned a lot from that.

:)

A huge thanks to Jamie and his crew for putting together an awesome competition. This was my first competition and even though I didn't shoot all that well it was a great time. At least now I know what I need to improve on.

Thanks to the sponsors as well, that was one nicely stocked prize table. Special thanks to Questar for coming out.

Thanks to all the participants. Everyone made this a fun, friendly, competition.

I will definitely be back next year!

Awesome shoot once again. Weather couldn't be better. Many thanks to Jamie, Morgan and the rest of the people involved in organizing this successful event. Great lunch by the safari club!!

Many thanks to Jamie and everyone helping! It was a great event and I would certain come next year and highly recommend to my friends. Also thank the sponsors. For me, I'd like to thank Scott Little from TDSA as I got the Tactical Rifle course certificate as prize, something I have been wanting to do.

As for shooting, well, it was my first time, screwed up a couple stages and I am still quite happy overall for all the experience I learned.

The experience (and prizes), well worth the drive and overnight stay.

BTW, does anyone know if we can get those photo op pictures? Thought that was very cool. Great organization by the way! Everything runs smoothly.

What a great event. Big thanks to Jamie, Morgan and all the ROs for putting together a challenging yet fun shoot.

See you all at the next one

Photo guy that was there is supposed to be forwarding his pictures to Jaime I heard. I was talking to him and he said something as well abut a drop box?.... Not sure why he wants to drop them into a box, how do we see them then? ;)

Dropbox is a website like photobucket where people can store pics , I got the base photographer to come out and he will be sending pics to Jamie .

Fabulous match put together by a great team!

I had heard many good things about the gang at Petawawa Gun Club and it was even better than I expected. Really friendly and helpful people from the MD all the way to the volunteers at the BBQ by Safari Club International. The hospitality and scenery were top notch, and the prize table was very generous. Thanks to the many sponsors for supporting the event and the sport in general. Questar had a big display in the banquet hall and I'd like to thank them for my prize.

The match has some challenging and unusual stages which made it a bit different and very fun. Jamie and his RSOs, butts officials, scorers, and other volunteers ran a very smooth match. This is a huge commitment and I'd like to give a big shout out to them and their families for allowing and/or participating.;) Well done!

My group traveled from Toronto and Montreal, and I talked to competitors that came in from London and near Windsor. Definitely worth the drive and the stay to shoot in this event and we are already looking forward to next year. These are the things that really grow the sport and anybody that is interested in precision rifle should attend.

Thanks again to all the sponsors, volunteers, and competitors. Big thanks to Jamie and all his match officials for putting on such a fun and well run event.

See you at the next one!

A huge shout out to Jamie and his crew! They ran a great match that was well thought out from beginning to end. Getting shooters on base, signed in, to the range, all the set-up, making targets, arranging a BBQ, and pulling together a great price table were all elements that took planning and a lot of man hours. The effort Jamie put into making the match happen, to grow the sport, was much appreciated!

The price table was great! I walked out with a gift certificate from Tactical Ordnance, which will help me step up my rifle for next year.

I also found my DOPE wasn’t as accurate as I hoped, but that’s one of the reasons I wanted to actually get out and shoot 600m. The three of us who drove up all had a good time, learned some things about shooting that far, and what we need to adjust in our gear. I’d definitely recommend this match to a new or experienced precision shooter.

It was nice to match some faces to the CGN user names and witty sig lines.

That was a great weekend. I echo again as I say thank you to everyone involved. Mr. Dent thanks. It is great to have a guy like you to pull that together. I know it would have taken up a lot of your time. We all appreciate it a lot.

I personally learned a lot being it was my first ever match let alone first time shooting past 450yards. All my shots went through the target backer... not all on paper or even on the right parts of paper when they were.... but still had a blast. Was well worth the long drive from london area. I will be coming again next year for sure.

A word to the sponsors. Thanks. As a new shooter it is very encouraging to see that kind of free will support.

I look forward to seeing you all again.

Can not praise Jamie and his crew enough. Very well done, gentlemen. Couldn't have asked for nicer conditions to shoot and learn in or a nicer bunch of people to hang around with. Happy with my dope and shooting, but found out the hard way 90 seconds was not quite the "tons of time" reported by match officials! Loved it all, see you next year, hopefully sooner.
