Petawawa Gun Club Presents.. The Sharpshooter Competition

rifles 308 vs 223

Hi Terry couple of things for you, I would like to congratulate you to being on Canadian FTR class in Raton last year, coming a few points from winning Gold.
secondly I was in a local gun shop in Ottawa and fellow ( Butch ) ? I think, was saying the 223 rem "MOUSE GUN" will run and could easily beat the .308 win out to 1000y is this actually true
I was thinking more like 100 y to 300y whats your thoughts on this,
Louis

The snow has gone down ALOT since last weekend...the pic is from today taken at the 100 yard mound and looking back towards the 600. The mounds are clear but there was still some in front and on the sides of the mounds . We have 3 days of rain coming so it will be gone and hopefully with some warm weather the ground dries up .

Awesome, We're good to go. We've lost so much snow in a such a short period of time it's unreal. For a dry ground I'm hoping it will be so, but long range in the bay that weekend is 60% chance of rain. Thanks for the update

Butch is a hell of a trigger puller but he listens to Paul too much. :) I'd like to see him shoot a 308, I bet he'd never go back.

I'm really impressed with NEA.

One of the big attractions for me will be meeting the reps from some of the wicked companies, maybe find some nice deals too.

It'll also be interesting to see who comes dressed up like they're raiding Osama's compound ;)

I see my rifle (pre upgrades) just off of sylencers bolt handle! This weekend is going to be a gooder aside from the certainty that I will not outshoot most of the people present.

I shoot just as average in camo as I do in denim and a Hawaiian shirt. Clothing like that is a waste of money unless you are operational or work in the industry, but that's just me counting my pennies and scrap copper and brass....speaking of which.......

I disagree Klink...I told sylencer a couple weeks ago it only matters that you "look good and everything else will fall into place"...lol .
And if the rain shows up Sat &Sun I will look like the "Action Jackson" standing beside him with my multicam rainsuit ...lol
