PGW coyote.

spatrick it had more kick than I thought it would or maybe it was just the bang from the muzzle and I was hung over so I gotta go try again very soon and see how she shoots again. HAHA.

Jason, I took my Coyote out to 1200m today at the Longest Mile at Edson. Not many hits, mind you, at 1100 or 1200m. But the rifle is capable. It was hitting consistantly a 12 inch target at 1000m with 168gr A-Max before the wind picked up. Then, a switch to 175gr solved the wind (with some hold overs) out to 1k. Fun times.

Thats a 5 shot group at 100y? errr..... ya. My AICS Rem 722 .308 puts 5 shots into one hole at 100y with Hornady 178 gn HPBT Match. I'd think the PGW would do the same!

Otokiak, i dont mean to rain on your parade at all, just saying! Or is this the first 5 shots you ever took out of tha trig, and was just messing around? BTW, nice rifle! Ive seen some of your other toys! you have some really cool stuff! im very jealous! ummm maybe you wanna trade my wife for.... ah, forget it. (Yikes!)

He's using factory ammo (most hornady factory ammo shoots like crap) and I do not see a rear bag in his picture. Another factor is even the best rifle won't shoot to its potential if the trigger puller is not at his best that day (he did mention he was hung over).

Consistent shooting 5 rounds into one hole isnt an easy feat.

You got that right... and on that note, I didnt say i could do it consistently! as a matter of fact, last night I put 60 round through the barrel, and I couldnt shoot better than a 1/2" group all night! I was trying some different loads though. I was trying 167 gn Lapua Scenar, 178 gn HPBT Match, and 180 gn SST's.... I just couldnt reproduce what I did last week! You know, I compare it to shooting pool! Some nights it seems i just cant miss, and other nights, I cant sink a ball to save my life! I dunno, the wind was almost non existent, coming from straight behind me, conditions were perfect..... at the end of the session I was just happy to have such a nice evening, and looked at it as quality time practicing my trigger control, etc.... ;-)

Wow, tough crowd Jason. Just like me. Oh well, lessons learned :) just to let you know that your Coyote, like mine, is capable out to 1200m. Have fun, and don't let the nay-sayers discourage you.

That's great 6MT! I'm kind of jealous of you guys being able to shoot at such long distance! The max range I have nearby is 400yd. That is what I have access to for the moment.

Well since you keep bringing this up, can you point out which comment in your deleted thread crossed the line? All I saw were comments about how your rifle has more potential than the targets posted. Did I miss something?

Honestly, stop being a baby about this ! CGN is not a tough crowd at all - want to see tough crowd then try the 'hide for example. You have a nice rifle, you posted some mediocre groups and some guys pointed out that you could do better if you moved away from the Hornady Superperformance ammo - that was it, nothing else, nada, zip and then you deleted all your posts and acted all hurt about it. For heaven's sake, really ?? The worst thing about this whole melodramatic episode is that the guy ( Marcoman ) was really trying to help you out with advice that's all. Relax and enjoy your Coyote - they are great rifles - and understand that no one was picking on you.

WHOOOA FOLKS PLEASE PLEASE don't let this become a shizznat storm and screw up my thread. As for my 5 shots yes I put my scope on and took the rifle to the range and those were my 1st group of 5 shots to site her in. I actually removed the bipod, used a backpack up front and held the pistol grip & placed my free hand under my shooter arm. I was hung over and couldn't find my two small shooter bags for the rear and front. I'm pretty damn sure this rifle is capable of GREAT grouping but I'm still learning to breath right and steady pull. I'll post other groups once I have time to go to the range and it's not snowing hail like it is today ... bloody winter won't end here. HAHAHA. Once again I just wanted to share my rifle as I finally got out to shoot it and thought not bad considering I just put the scope on that day. Cheers my fellow CGNer's,

Talk to Macroman a lot. He is a very nice guy, and very knowledgable. He was only trying to help. People take the interwebs way to serious lol, but sure does provide good entertainment.

Otokiak here is my new Coyote,
Received it Thursday afternoon and had to take a pic right away with a buddy's Timberwolf

Today was range day for scope sight in at 100m and then try a few groups at 300 yds. The S&B I want is on order so I put on a Sightron I had sitting around to get some trigger time. Ran some 168gr Sierra Matchking gold medal match.

I am not use to running a Harris Bipod so this is style of shooting is all new to me. My shooting started bottom right as that's where the first sighter went, then proceeded to shoot clockwise and finished on the top 2 groups. I am guessing consistent bipod preload is key as you can see by my groups last shot flyer ! always that 5th shot !

So off to 300 yards,

My 2 groups are on the far right and the ones on the left are Timberwolf load development . The wind was picking up at this time but not too gusty.. and again I need to work on my long range shooting with a bipod.

The trigger on this Coyote breaks at about 3.5 lbs and is so nice. I just missed getting the new Trigger Tech trigger in this Coyote, I am use to lighter triggers but this one is awesome.
Time to get some loads together and see how everything comes together. More time behind the trigger learning how to use a Bipod of this style will surely make me more consistent and tighten up the groups.
For my very first 308, this is awesome !
