The new LRA mounted.

Is that a 338?

Otokiak here is my new Coyote,
Received it Thursday afternoon and had to take a pic right away with a buddy's Timberwolf

Today was range day for scope sight in at 100m and then try a few groups at 300 yds. The S&B I want is on order so I put on a Sightron I had sitting around to get some trigger time. Ran some 168gr Sierra Matchking gold medal match.

I am not use to running a Harris Bipod so this is style of shooting is all new to me. My shooting started bottom right as that's where the first sighter went, then proceeded to shoot clockwise and finished on the top 2 groups. I am guessing consistent bipod preload is key as you can see by my groups last shot flyer ! always that 5th shot !

So off to 300 yards,

My 2 groups are on the far right and the ones on the left are Timberwolf load development . The wind was picking up at this time but not too gusty.. and again I need to work on my long range shooting with a bipod.

The trigger on this Coyote breaks at about 3.5 lbs and is so nice. I just missed getting the new Trigger Tech trigger in this Coyote, I am use to lighter triggers but this one is awesome.
Time to get some loads together and see how everything comes together. More time behind the trigger learning how to use a Bipod of this style will surely make me more consistent and tighten up the groups.
For my very first 308, this is awesome !

Thanks,
Jeff

Congrats@ Jeff on the sweet new rig but it's still not a Fclass rifle. ;p I gotta ask what type of grip is that? Will it fit onto a AR style mount? Love how vertical it is.

I need to invest in a rear bag as I used my left arm under the rear of my right elbow tonite. The wind was NW approx 38km/hr wet & windy. 1st pic is 1st group of 10 shots. 2nd pic 2nd group of 10 shots. This is pretty good for me but probably crap for others. I'll keep trying & get a rear bag and go on non windy rainy days. Nosler match grade 175 gr

2nd group of 10 shots. I know these rifle can shoot amazing in the hands of a great shooter. I'm still learning & enjoying shooting this beauty!

Another vote here for the JSA Tactical bags. I got all three sizes and they are very useful. You can just give a little squeeze to move the rifle up or down a touch. My previous rear bag is the Caldwell bunny ears style bag. The JSA Tactical bags are WAY better than those.

No comparason. Not even apples to oranges. The Harris "worked" itself loose after 20 rounds or so. All the time. But, the rifle is heavy. For something lighter, it would be ideal. The LRA is a stud!

I am buying an LRA as soon as I can scratch up the $$ for it. I bought a Harris to get me through the BCRA precision match this weekend. It worked loose just as you described. The Harris was OK and I will work with it (and mostly on my technique) for a while. The solidity of the LRA is a selling point though.

The LRA is the Cadillac of Bipods.........If I had the extra cash I would have bought one.......

But I settled for an Atlas with the quick releace picatinney mountt.....still a good chunk of change though.I used it at the BCRA match and it was great. I found it easy too use and it was solid.
