PGW Timbewolf pros and cons? looking for opinions

I have observed a pattern of late: Furtaker and Dirtemax obviously share quite negative views about the PGW products - in this they are fully entitled and, in fact, fair and balanced criticism of products probably helps us all in making our purchasing decisions. What troubles me though is the apparent shared criticism of a feat of arms performed by one of Canada's most famous military men i.e. the shot taken by then CF member Mr. Rob Furlong in Afghanistan. Nonsense about 'lobbing shots until making a hit' and such like really offends me - as shooters we ought to be able to appreciate the incredible marksmanship required to make such a shot and as Canadians we ought to be proud and thankful of the service provided to us by those we send into harms way.

Well said! That really pissed me off!

Not sticking up for anyone here, but Frank Galli the main guy that started Snipers Hide, ranked the Timberwolf in his top 3 of 338's he has shot. It's there go look it up..........

I think he may have even shot a few customs in his days down there in the States as well. I could be wrong though.

Holy..you people can really twist stuff. I am not negative on the PGW's..Canada's best perhaps. I viewed an opinion on there being a better choice for the money perhaps. My grandfather gave the ultimate price for our freedoms and in no way put words in my mouth that take away from a Canadian solider. I made reference to walking out a shot. Do you think anyone does a cold bore one shot hit at 2400 plus yards..let me know if you know him..would like to meet him. You talk about being negative..Take it easy people. Open up that little melon of yours and look around. Great bunch of guys at PGW..good gun..are there options..i think so.

Furtaker - your words from post #148 were " maybe if i lobbed shots at someone till i hit something i may be deemed an expert too ".

I took that to be an implied criticism of a Canadian marksman. If I am wrong then I apologize.

Some do..yes. We is a little thick on here aren't we. Never said they weren't any good..said they were more then what i would spend for the few i have seen. Better routes to take if you ask me. Do what you want. Snipers Hide is just a good place to look outside of Canada for a few ideas of what's better out there . Come guys..less posting and more shooting. Summer is short.

Oh there is definitely some thick people on this site......

I see infractions in this thread, again!!! cou:

what one might that be? :)

it is to bad this post was hijacked. seams to happen regularly with a certain few. I have been away from this site for months and come back to the same thing.

again.

guess its time to have the moderator delete the threat again. cant blame them as this is nonsense.

At least its not a 50 thread.

Timberwolves can be hit or miss. Trust me...i'm more than qualified to make this statement. If you get a good one they are amazing. If you get a shoddy one they are 10k paper weights. Buy a Sako TRG 42 or a Savage 110 and spend the extra money saved on ammo!

if you have a "shoddy" one send it back for evaluation, it will be fixed and sent back to you. I love trust me...... I'm qualified....... statements. I'm not picking a fight but seriously..... I do value your opinion tho ( not really ). I beg to differ on the 110, the TRG is a fine firearm but if you put the Savage in the same class as the T-wolf or TRG you have lost you qualifications in my mind.

One gun that gives the t-wolf or TRG a run is the DTRS. if you can get over the plastic feel the gun is a shooter.

How many accounts does dirteemax have?

Well mattmoser why dont you enlighten me with your vast operational experience with the C14 and then pvt msg me and ill tell you all about my experiences with it. Sound good?

Here's an idea. Since your so qualified why don't you write a detailed review and back up your opinion with facts, evidence, or at least some type of rational argument. That's what a mature individual would do.
