I'd like to suggest that pgw look into calibers 762x54, .30-06, .300wm for this. There is currently no real modern 762x54 gas guns on the canadian market. .338 lm is an excellent cartridge that the caf should really double down on considering it's one of the only modern calibers that can effectively deal with level 4 armor, but the rest of the market in canada probably won't be looking for a rifle that spits out 10 dollar bills per trigger pull. I mean, 762x54 is an untapped market right now. Offering a semi in it, would corner that market immediately.
I would also like to make a second suggestion. Make sure to cut weight on every opportunity. That direwolf looks direly heavy. Aim for under 9 lbs without optics/bipods. I've picked up a dragonov and it's incredibly light. If someone else decided to be a competitor against your product, a customer will likely factor in weight in any side by side comparison which could be a deal breaker.
my 2 cents.

You're saying there's a 300 WM AR 10 in the NR role right now? Maybe I'm out of touch, but I believe you are incorrect. The closest the market has are BAR longtracs or R1s which are not AR 10s. There is however a 338 LM semi auto is on the market. The Alexander Arms Ulfbert is available for order. The Serbu BFG50a is also available which is a 50.

So 7 pages in, do we know how much this unicorn is going to cost?
I’m a big fan of PGWDTI and I’m sure there is some niche market for a .338 Lapua Semi Auto but I cant think what it is... who can’t run the bolt just as fast as would be required at this power and distances? Is this just for people who suck? Asking for a friend![]()

Lot different when the targets are shooting back at you...
Distance creates time and opportunity, as one former Marine scout sniper always says.
There's a place for both semi-auto and bolt sniper rifles, I don't think you are going to see this rifle replacing a lot of bolt guns. Bolt guns will still be very relevant and prevalent in the .gov world.
Semi auto 308's have replaced a lot of bolt guns already in the gov world
In some roles, but there's a lot of bolt guns out there that probably aren't going anywhere anytime soon.
Yeah, they are collecting dust in the armory gun racks
