Once again I would like to thank Steve and Ross at PGWDTI for my newest rifle a Coyote chambered in 308. This is the second rifle in the last 3 years that I have bought from them and once again this thing just flat out delivers.

Fit and finish are really amazing considering that this thing is a battle rifle. Accuracy.....well I will let the pics speak for themselves. I shot 5 round groups for half an hour and they all fell within the two I posted.

Please excuse the crappy picture quality. Its the best my phone can do.

###y rifle, and those is some nice groups. I'd ask the cost of the setup, but I already know I couldn't afford it :(

groups are even better than you claim, measuring center to center

are these handloads?

wow, that is one beautiful rifle

newbie Q:
what distances were those shot at? and is that the default when people talk about groupings?

Very nice. What is with the oal marked on the targets? You have mag fed at 2.8 and 2.247 with a 15 though jam. Is it 2.947? Just curious.

cost is listed on their web site w ww.pgwdti.com/

one group measures .485" which would be a .177 moa the other is .565" which would be .257 moa

Yes these are handloaded

Must be back to dealing with the little guys, now.

Not sure but I have always been able to do business with them. Perhaps it is easier for me because I am local?

Thank you. All of these groups are at 100 yards. I'm going out on Sunday to shoot at 300 and 500 yards to see what it will do.

Not sure of the COL on the load that is jammed .015. I used a comparitor and measured on the ogive. However it seems to like the mag fed length loads.

That's odd.....looking at one of your targets it says you're using 47.7 grs of Varget with the 154 scenars and you're getting only 2900 fps? I'd be closer to 3000+ out of my Coyote with that load. What brass are you using...(I'm not sure if that really makes a difference, just curious to know)?

I'm using plain old winchester.....once I get a load that I'm going to stick with I'll switch to Lapua brass

I was also expecting more that 2900fps.....what is the barrel length of your Coyote?? Mine is 24" with a 1-10 twist.

That velocity is reasonable and of course there has been a variation in burning rate with Varget.

Nice to see Lapua bullets shooting as well or better than those so expensive ones!

Regards,

Peter

My Coyote in 7wsm is on order and if it shoots like your .308 I will be very happy. BTW which dies are you using?
Congrats on the purchase.

My barrel length and twist are the same and I'm using Lapua brass. Like Peter said....could be variations in the powder from lot to lot. Lots of other variables to consider as well. Just to give you an example I'm using almost 2 grains less and getting roughly 30 ft/s more velocity. All that aside....your doing something right 'cause the groups look great. The Coyote's are good shooters for sure. Enjoy.

nice rifle.

Please don't use the Winchester load data in the Lapua brass. there is a hugh difference in the weight of the Lapua brass (on the heavier side) then the Win, you will get yourself in trouble using that load.

Sweet rig, beauty groups. I believe that PGW rifles are the finest out there. I bought my Coyote this summer and they were great guys to deal with, got my rifle in a timely manner and put it to use immediately with no problems. Glad to see there is someone else out there willing to invest in such quality gear from a local supplier.

Thanks, my dies are RCBS part # 15501. Have had them for a very long time.

Once I switch to Lapua brass perhaps I will see a difference. Peter makes a good point however....could it also be difference in elevation? The day I shot those groups it was cloudy and +7 c

Not sure what you mean...are you saying Lapua brass has less volume therefore I may see an increase in pressure?

Thanks...my experience in dealing with Steve and Ross was the same as yours, this rifle is going to be used a lot and for a very long time. I plan to shoot the hell out of it lol
