Pick 3 **centerfire cartridges** to cover NA game

My earlier choices (.22-250, 7X57, .35 Whelen) were the "practical" three... my "favorite" three would likely be;

6mm Rem
7X57 Mauser
.358 Win

And, ;) for my clarification, my three "practical" choices were;
- 219 Donaldson Wasp
- 308 Norma Magnum
- 375 H&H
My "favorite" three would be
- Schultz & Larsen model 68DL, in 7x61 S&H
- Schultz & Larsen model 65DL, in 308 Norma Magnum
- Schultz & Larsen model 68DL, in 358 Norma Magnum

Well John I never get tired.of.that photo.

My original choices were.....
25-06
300wm
375 Rum

I will play these cards, no draw needed.

25-06 for..deer with a side of predator.

300wm as a one gun battery for anything in.NA.

375 RUM because I have.one, a never sell item for a peckerwood with too many rifles, that truly is equal to anything walking this earth and for most that ever did.

:) Thanks guy. Years ago, after seeing my first Schultz & Larsen, ;) I was hooked. I decided to get the three shown on the cover of the old Norma reloading manual. Apparently the three calibres were a collaborative effort between Schultz & Larsen and Norma. My first was the 308 NM and it's served me well, especially on Moose. I have used it on Mule Deer hunts on draw in Alberta in more recent years. A couple of years ago, the 7x61 S&H got the call for a long awaited Antelope Draw, also in Alberta. Next go round with Mr. Moose, it'll be time for an outing for the 358 NM :d .

.22 Long Rifle for the little critters,
.223 Remington for the bigger critters,
.308 Winchester for any thing bigger then a critter.;)

Ultimately is depends on range and legal requirements for certain game. So on that note the .308 may need to upgraded to something with a little more knock down energy at those farther distances, but for most any game (barring perhaps Bison) .308 should work well with the right projectile.

Cheers D

Current selections-

My working guns (Not afraid to get them dirty!)
223
6.5x55
9.3x62

Pretty one's
222
7x57
375 H&H

I think my "working" 3 are practical for anything I have had occasion to shoot, the 375 has never been a "need" for the NA game I see, but I have a thing for Brno's in classic cal's
