Pick a cartridge.

Everyone seems to have a 308. Be a little differnet and grab a 7-08, 260 or 6.5x55.

The range in lethbridge would be ideal for the flatter shooting calibers. (I have been there a few times and quitte like it.) 400-500 yards If I remember correctly? A good place to practise shooting in the wind too:cheers:

You also could be making some mega long hunting shots in this part of the province. So now Im gonna say the 6.5x55 or the .260:)

.270 is a cartridge that seems a little boring to me. Gets the job done, but there are ###ier cartridges out there:rockOn:

I will never again set foot in there. after the whole 9mm bullet traveling close to a thousand yards and blowing through a house window, I'm ticked. It never happened that way.:bsFlag: I now belong to another range, and am quite happy. The CFC certified the range as safe. The RCMP checked it out too. But City Council 'persuaded' the club to change the rules. :kickInTheNuts: Sorry, I don't play that way to be PC, thank you. Don't mind me, I'm still pi$$#d about the whole thing.:bangHead:

With the ballistics of our modern cartridges, I really think it is a question of personal preference.
Take a pick, anmd learn how to shoot it well be it a smallish bore, or a big boomer!

.308 and I just voted with my wallet having picked up a brand new BLR

We need more details than that.... Laminate/stainless?, blued/walnut?, pistol grip? 81? what scope?

How does it shoot for ya?

(reason is that I want one eventually)

.308. Cheap miltary ammo and regular ammo can be found everywhere. Fairly low recoil. Short action = more accurate and less weight. If you are reloading, low powder usage, brass easily available and no resizing and trimming needed like with a 7mm-08 or .260 Rem., plenty of bullets of all sizes and configurations.

use them all! just depends which i grab when i get them out of the case.when you got more n' one you gotta give them all some play time!
other 1/2 loves her 7mm08 more than me i think .if could only buy one probably 308 1)load range110gr-250gr.2)ammo $$$$either factory or reload or surplus3)shoot all day ability 4)wide range of rifles chambered 5)can buy factory ammo almost anywhere...
