Pick the best Civil War revolver

Ok , the polls on the best muzzle loader and repeater went well, so now its time to pick the best Civil War revolver. its more than one vote, and as per all the other polls, it will come down to the best two. You may pick as many as you want in this one, but please keep it to at least two or three.

Well its starting out good, I picked the lemat because of the 9 shots and shotgun barrel, the Starr as it was double action early in the war, and the Walker because its abig heavy bit of steel and was designed to drop horses.

I say Colt, Ill take a colt open top any day of the week.

Remington percussion's are bricks and handle with all the finesse of one

I picked the Navy Colt because they just feel better.

Remember these hand guns, are all single action but for the Starr, so don't get them confused.

the remington always seems stronger than dirt. both from simplicity to use to ease of cleaning. the 44 is the manstopper, not the 36.

I voted Remy 44 its out in front as it should be being a solid frame and didnt have the problems the colts had with fired percussion caps falling inbetween the hammer and frame makeing the gun unfireable.

The Remys are a bit heavy but are not like bricks far from it and nothing wrong with a handgun thats got some heft LOL

The Star woulda been ok to and DA is nice to have.

No surprise-Remington all the way here.

fast cylinder change if needed or a dandy club if there's no time for that.

very few parts to wear(the cylinder lock cam on the hammer being IT basically) and easy to keep working.

The Remington, Colt army, Le Mat top 3 so far, and a tie for 4th place with the Starr,Walker, and Colt Navy. maybe i would have to do a top 5 poll but go right to top 3

1858 Remington...Because of the top strap, it was stronger revolver to handle a .44 charge....Mine is an excellent shooter and points well....It will, however jam up quicker due BP fouling because of the top strap....But the Remington is much quicker to reload when you carry extra cylinders....Next would be my 1860 colt....Great shooter and points very well..Just remember to flick your wrist to get the gun to toss spend caps out of the way, and not jam the cylinder.....I like the fire power of the Le Mat, but it a rather heavy revolver and feels off balance in my hand....

Remington because seems like a hardy well built gun.

Starr because it's double action and easy to clean, but with a darn heavy trigger.
