I have experienced the same thing because I load 223 and 3006 etc and it seems I have to flip the jaws 2 times a week. However I did get the upgrade and last night I switched jaws 3 times with no fear of going on a spring hunt! Priceless !
Finally got my press going last night and sure enough those springs do f%#^* off at the speed of light. Spend 10 min looking for one, TWICE!
Tried the grease but maybe I don't have enough there.
I'm considering the upgrade. $50 is steep now but I might be wishing I spent it the next time a spring goes flying.
EAGLEye....I just lubed my POST
haha I had toWhat is the best place to order one from?
It's as smooth as silk.. just get a couple of extra shell plate springs as they are noted for taking a flyer when you change the configuration.
I lube the posts with rem oil every so often an away you go.. great for accurate rifle loading.
I have a Dillon 650 as well, the Forster takes care of the rifles and the Dillon the pistols a perfect match.![]()
Granted, I'm not doing pistol ammo, but I don't see the need.and buy the short handle it's worth it..

I just grab the handle right at the yoke with my left hand, and swing it down to grab with my right.
