Plastic bolt shrouds and trigger guards..ouch!! A stock Tikka will out shoot a stock Remington any day of the week and thats all that matters.
I have a number of stock Remingtons that would make you eat those words, Scott! Eagleye.
I've owned 5 Remington 700's and a 1 M7. all are/were 3/4 MOA or better rifles, and only one ever saw a smith ( to be rebarreled later to .338-06 that would put 3 in 0.6" all day long @ 100yrds).

Hahaha. Some good posts here. I've never owned a Remington and probably won't as there are a lot of quality control issues with the new ones (as per some posts here on CGN) and I've found what I need and like in other brands. It's a Ford/Chevy kind of thing with Remington sneaking up on Yugo.![]()
From Websters:
soo.... the 700 has been around since 1971, so I would consider post 2005 to be a recently made rifle.
did the remington factory start turning out s**t last week? is that what you're trying to tell me?
so you're commenting on a product you've never owned, and basing your opinion on CGN posts? the rumors of busted remingtons have been around a long time, and they're just that, rumors.
I also heard a rumor Tikka rifles shoot 1 hole groups at 400yrds with milsurp ammo. and that jebus was seen in a taco in Tijuana

I think we need a CGN challege shoot, Tikka vs Rem (zero mods). We all know who would win....but it'd be a good time
Cheers!!
