Picking up pistol brass

You should consider rigging up a fine mesh net on a mike stand or some other gooseneck floor stand.... catch the brass before they hit the ground.

Here's a readymade bench top setup... looks pretty easy to fabricate with some basic tools and supplies..... :)

Just buy a fishing net with smaller netting. Cut the handle and epoxy in a 1/4-20 nut coupler and can mount on any tripod.

IDPA? IPSC? Revolver. That is the only answer.

I sort of figure people that struggle physically with brass clean up are probably shooting from a bench.

But if buddy is still doing active shooting sports or simply enjoys moving through different positions as he shoots..... well there is yet another answer, beyond painkillers suggestion to shoot a revolver.... though personaly I'd start stretching and maybe doing some yoga and hitting the weights before attaching a bag to my pistol:)

I made one of these years ago with 1/2" PVC water pipe and fittings from TSC and used a mesh laundry bag as the net. If I can find it I'll post some pictures, I haven't used it in a long time as I don't run any semi auto these days.
Mesh Laundry bag is a good call for a cheap netting, I guess the only real challenge is making the opening large enough to catch brass from a reasonable distance and from guns that might have an inconsistent ejection trajectory.
