We properly celebrated the moose harvest in the afternoon, while waiting on the gutpile for a chance at wolves...No wolves appeared that afternoon, not surprising since by the time half the water bottle of whiskey was gone , we were rolling around laughing too much.
We were mostly just goofing around, neither one of us is one of those "lets get drunk while hunting" guys. I dont' think we even loaded our rifles.

Here's my cottage/ hunting camp. I always call it "the camp" and it's funny when people come for the 1st time, they must have a tarpaper shack in mind!
No moose, decent deer hunting, rabbits, grouse
I must say I'm surprised at the number of posts of tenting out to hunt, that dosen't happen here but we don't have the vacant spaces to take advantage of. Hard to find and "wilderness" here. Really jealous of the horseback hunting pics. You guys don't know how lucky you are.
Lots of streams like this though
And the evening view from the front deck can be nice

mine. nothing special, but it keeps the rain off and keeps me warm. used to be alot of partridge here, the last couple years they've been on the decline though, unfortunately.
Man that looks familiar, wouldn't happen to be on the Buchans plateau/ Stoney Lake area?
Can't get the photo link to load so will try again later! Lot of good looking camps in here though!! And camp is what you and your hunting partners make it!! They are ALL good if it has you "in the hunt"!!!

It worked!! NOW, the rest of the story. Arranged for Mike (on the left) and
I to meet the husband of a friend of my wife and his partner to hunt moose in Northern BC. A rendezvous point was set and met. The question from me was what do we bring?? Answer: Food, bullets, beer if we wanted, gear and sleeping bags. Tent? says I?? No I have a 9X12 the fella says. This was camp and the tent was 6X9. Thankfully we had brought our old army cots so we could store gear under them. The friend and his partner slept in the trailer while we slept in the tent. All cooking and eating was in the trailer. Although it was -25C it was still a comfortable camp - until that night!! About 0530 the tarp collapsed under 15 inches of snow which caused the tent to collapse and it blocked the door to the trailer!! After some delicate manoeuvring our new partners were able to exit the trailer and lift the tarp off the tent so we could get dressed. We departed the area rapidly with all our gear and made it to an active logging road. End of season!! It was a hoot and this was a fun camp!! Next time I will bring my 9X12X4 Wall tent and cut some proper support poles for the big blue tarp!!
As I said at the start - hunt camp is just that!!! It doesn't matter what - just be "in the hunt"!!!!

Here are a couple pics of my deer camp in WMU 58 in Ontario. We added the porch in 2003. Off the grid but have propane/ solar/ and generator. We have a Sauna, but most of all we have awesome members.
