Picture of the day

So that was a pic of Communist partisans during the Milan General Uprising. It is hard to find concrete facts on operations during this uprising - maybe it is on Italian language sites? We do know there were a lot of bombing attacks during this civil war.

Huh the stupid AI search engine gives you the false impression that the Italian Civil War is the same as the Anni di piombo, 1960 - 1980. What bull####!

I want to say that I went through the barracks in the middle background in '89. Its kinda hard to tell but I do remember our barracks backed on to the sea.
Still angry about the civvy lockup bull#### and the scummy dry cleaner.

Lol. This reminds me of a Scene from 'Catch 22', 1970.

Interesting. The popular narrative is that the Naples uprising was a spontaneous, citizen uprising. This is apparently not true. Considerable planning and preparation went into it. Lots of Allied support was rendered.

There were two 34 blocks down by the beach, next to Champlain Hall (Mess), dont recall the numbers but one was the meningitis block as we called it, which was closed up after a cadet came down with meningitis there, and stayed closed the better part of a decade.

80 years ago today, Cpl. Ruth Oakley of the US 7th Army is photographed with a captured German StG 44 assault rifle in the French city of Château-Salins (Salzburgen).
