Picture of the day

And now for something completely different.

BSA made bicycles for a very long time, they were in military use fretty much from very beginning of cycling craze. Here is 1944 MkV Military Roadster.Next to it is almost exact copy still made by BSA India.

There is more than a few military BSA bikes in various museums here in Ontario.I've seen 2 and I'm told there are many more present but I'm sure some are CCM made roadsters.

Here is one of the two BSA folding bicycles that I am aware of locally . Not mine, just did some work correcting someone else's "work" on it.

Some years ago I saw one like that but not in riding shape, with stripped threads and nuts and painted with some old blue paint.

I still almost bought it but haggling with owner was more than bike was worth.

4x4

You only have to need a 4x4 once or twice a year to need a 4x4. Especially if the "need" arise not by choice.

If I want to get out of my 100m driveway to the gravel road that leads to the paved road 500m further away, I need 4x4. Then I come to my senses, go back to mount the snow plow on the front of my Tacoma, plow to the paved road, clear my neighbour's lengthy driveways and that of the community hall, etc., etc.

I carry tow ropes and snow shovel to pull folks out of the snow banks. When I'm in town I need 4x4 to get away from the four way stops that are slicker than bat snot from townies spinning their wheels in 2wd.

When I've gotten stuck on my own property, I use my wife's plastic garden fencing for traction under the tires. Works like a charm. She hasn't noticed the dwindling pile ..... ;>)

Looks like Portuguese Airborne uniform and AR10.

Depending on the immediate situation, that spot just might be every bit as comfortable as a good bed.

He looks like he's completely out, that's when those bloody inch long red/black ants come in for a taste or a snake cuddles up for warmth.
