Ukrainian soldiers holding an NLAW. A joint British and Swedish short-range fire-and-forget anti-tank missile system. Designed for use by infantry, the MBT LAW is shoulder fired and disposable, firing once before being disposed of.

Something appropriate for today.

I am told this a photo of a Ukrainian woman expressing her opinion of those who did not belong in her country circa 2015.

And now to see if these are actually put to use. I wonder, how many of today’s youth / young adults in this modern “first world” are actually prepared to risk their lives in defense of their country.

It's easier to unite in commonality when the threat is external.

There was a poll done a few years ago on the numbers of Canadians whoi would be prepered to take in arms in the defence of their country. The results were disppointing and disturbing, but hardly surprising.:(

Defend your country and then after the fact have the govt charge you with war crimes. Tell me thats not possible and I have a bridge to sell you.

Both my parents, my dad’s brother and hundreds of thousands of patriotic young men and women who put their lives on the line during WWII for this country would certainly disagree with you..

That`s quite a sweeping statement. Many Canadians have served their country without being charged with war crimes.

To put it in context:

I'm talking about the current situation , not in the past. I served as well.

Do you trust the turd? Do you think he would he wouldn't throw you under the bus. Answer truthfully.

He has already shown his disdain for the military on numerous occasions.

Truthfully, I distrust Trudeau on everything. He's out for number one and has made the country a poorer place with his divisive politics and foolish ideology. His neglect of our national security and our military capabilities is unpardonable.

It's never too late though. Our response to the Ukrainian sitution should be to rejuvenate out military with new equipment and more people. When I joined the Army in 1964 we had a population of 24 million and an active force of 120,000. We are now 37 million with a military of 65,000. Numbers matter, and rebuilding takes a long time and lots of money.

Soldiers become quite popular in time of war. Otherwise, they're just a waste of money; kind of like an buying an insurance policy when your house never burns down.:sok2
