I don't think so, they're just a little darker, probably because of their age. - dan

Not sure, it's a pre S, 5 digit serial number, so I think that puts it in the late 20's. I'll have to dig out my S&W book and check the serial number when I get a chance. I also have an 38-44 HD 4" kicking around here somewhere. - dan

1956,but it is doubtful that Elmer ever had his hands on it.
