Pictures of S&W M27 and M28 Post them Here!!!

Thanks , I'd just about talked myself out of buying a 5" 27-2 seen at the gun show.
Is 650.00 fair for a decent 27? pretty tight with at least 90% of it's blueing.

Just received yesterday 1960 M27 no dash 6.5" barrel, oil smudge on cylinder. Now in 2020 has a new home.

Maybe if you look here: http://smith-wessonforum.com/member...88-coke-bottle-stocks-1956-goncalo-alves.html
sure looks like it, now to get an expert to confirm, fyi S&W offered what collectors call coke bottle stocks for about ten years. They first appeared in 1956 on the NEW 44 Magnum and were phased out beginning in 1966. I think S&W was trying to standardize the type of stocks they made and the "standard" target stock introduced in the early 50s was more than adequate, so they dropped the coke bottle style in favor of it.

Also look here:
Not all targets are Cokes but.......all Cokes are targets

Here's a picture of N target stocks on left and N Coke target stocks on the right. The easiest way to confirm Cokes is to look at the LARGER checkered area.
*Note* these grips were made at same time (APPROX 1956 to 1968)

Why do they call tem coke bottle grips? I always called them the football grips, due to the football shape indentation on the wooden grip, on the side where the cylinder swings out.

Gorgeous. One of my dream guns is a Model 29 with a barrel just over the legal limit but that 5" looks just about right, actually. Might have to change my mind, haha. Love the look of the massive cylinders on the N-frames.

I got a 29-2 with a 8 and 3/8 bbl that im thinking of getting cut down to 5 inches. Im wrestling with the idea.

When you look at them from the rear of the back strap, they have a profile of a coke bottle.

I wish I could put pictures from my IPhone onto this thread, as I have the oldest model 27 in the country!
The 36th 357 Magnum ever built, a Registered Magnum with 8-3/4" barrel, standard trigger, partridge front sight with gold bead, set up to shoot 38 wadcutters 6/o'clock hold. This was the start to my N Frame Smith Collection!
It is hard to find the old N Frames for sure , you just need to be persistent (;
The model 19's are another fine Magnum for sue to add to any Smith Collection.
Good luck to finding more vintage revolvers, were a dying breed of shooters these day!
Cheers Dale Z!
