Pictures of the SKS bought from westrifle.com

Who's being insulting? I said the main thing is he is happy with it, and he just made all the untouched ones more rare. All positive comments.

What's the chance you guys are done insulting the guy for choosing to personalize HIS gun to HIS liking FFS????? :slap:

Good grief........

Easy there Charlie Brown.

My query about getting the cosmo off was a legitimate one as I plan to buy an SKS after Christmas and I don't want to alter the finish on the stock.

This is my Westrifle SKS before and after.
Vary happy with my new SKS Ziggy.

I like it! Its boring when everyone just leaves things as they are! Good on you for giving it your own personal touch. I am also refinishing my izzy stock and I don't give a rats ass what the boring people say.

Here are some pics of SKSs recently acquired from Westrifle. It's great when you order one day and they show up at your door the next. The rifles are all Tula. From top to bottom-
49, 51, 53, 54,55, 55/56. The 51 was from Lever but I included it anyway. I asked Westrifle for a 1950 and a 1952 and they said they would look. Sure would like to comlete the set.

And I was wondering on the 5th picture, I have some rust on the both carrier, do you have a way to remove it without damaging the bolt?

Thx everyone

Evaporust works great. Will not damage the metal. Just make sure you dry it immediately. It is water based.

Hey finally getting my license and i have a lot of friends who own an sks and love them. They all bought them from local shops. Been looking at the Westrifle ones and just figured id ask people who bought from them. So if anyone can tell me how their Sks from Westrifle is it would be appreciated. Pics show nice rifles but that doesnt tell me much as far as condition and if they work well. Thanks in advanced!

SKS, is an SKS. The ones from west rifle are no different, but are way nicer quality then what you will find in most stores. I wanted a Numbers matching, unissued, so I bought from west rifle. Couldn't be happier. The way the mags are pinned is reason enough...

How about shooting? Some of these posts say they wont be firing theirs are the Westrifle ones more collector rifles? Excuse my inexperience in this kinda thing!

Personal preference. There are millions of these things. I'm a shooter not a collector. These guns were meant to be shot. If you don't shoot it and keep it, then your grand kids might make a profit on it. Even numbers matching aren't THAT rare. Up to you... I chose to shoot mine and have fun with it while I can!
