Pimp your Glock

Only Glock would be arrogent enough to believe their grips fit everyone.
While others have gone to modular gripped frames, Glock is being left behind.
I don't care for the mods this fellow did, but I applaud his ingenuity.

How so? 1911's and other steel framed pistols(Beretta, SIG, CZ) have no ability to accomodate different folks.

I can't believe there are sooo many RUDE people here.
I think i'ts pretty cool, i personally like custom work as opposed to out of the box, same as anyone else's........
I have a couple plans to repaint/finish a couple of my longarms with a couple different ideas/finishes......
I also think that posting your ideas for others to see, might just give people that extra incentive to change out that 'grip' that they don't quite like....
I just bought a Ruger 22/45, don't like the grips, didn't know they weren't able to change out, so i looked around, and they can be sanded down and 'real' 1911 grips put in place.... I can't wait to do that!! Maybe i'll paint them pink for my daughter to enjoy!!:p

I hope the grip doesn't crumble on you while firing! Not my cup of tea, but great work with the the rotary carving tool.

Lol it's not mine, I can't afford a Glock and thus I can't afford to deface a Glock. I'll start a thread called 'Pimp my Norc 1911' where I apply white-out to the front sight so I can see what the hell I'm pointing it at. Ooohhh fancy:) Or 'Pimp my K-frame' where I beat it with a hammer and see if it will ever shoot straight.

We're talking polymer here. Agreed, not all are doing it, but more guns are coming with this design. Glock will likely be last to conceed their design isn't perfect. (Remember 'Glock Perfection' )
Metal framed pistols have grips that can be replaced, and in the case of 1911s, backstraps too.

FWIW, I own two Glocks and the biggest complaint I have about them is that they get slippery if your hands get wet and it doesn't take too much moisture on your hands for them to feel like slicked snot. I may not like the 'look' of the modified grip but I can understand his reasoning in doing what he did......

I like it, actually love it even.
Good on him for having the balls for taking a risk at customizing the Block to his needs and posting it on the net!
What he did is no different then what a bunch of us do to our 1911's.....so if you don't like it.....Harden the FĂąck Up:p

The contour of a 1911 backstrap isn't that much different from a staight one. As for the rest of the makes I mentioned, you're all but out of luck. Interchangable backstraps do make sense to a degree. Remember, once you find the insert that fits you best, the rest are garbage. The other down side is the misconception by some that a more custom fitting pistol will improve their marksmanship. This is true to a certain level. No amount of add on accessories or customization will ever make up for quality professional training and lots of range time. After all, that's the excuse we use to shoot more isn't it? "we need to improve our marksmanship".;)

Gal I know wants a pink handgun. :D

where did you get the pic of this pink glock?
thats pretty cool.

There is a mod some Americans are doing for CCW which if done well looks kinda cool... chopping the grip of a full size to accept compact mags.

I've wanted to try this for awhile, but am waiting for a cheap Glock to appear in the EE ;)

Generation 3 with the finger grooves works for me. I would have used grip tape before I resorted to stippling.......but each to their own.
