Pink, eh?

Is the 597 any good, though? I thought I saw a few posts slagging it for being jam-prone or somesuch issue...

I have only heard good things about them, but to be honest, I haven't researched them very much. I am considering one for my next .22 (currently have none) If my wife liked pink I would definitely get her that one but she is not a fan.

Fortunately I married a woman whose fave colour is camo-not the fake stuff either. She has taken possession of my Winchester 9422 which I found out the last time we were at the range. Could be worse:)

who makes a .22LR leftie bolt in pink, preferably with laminated stock and a mag, but neither is a deal breaker. anyone?
or even if its .223 but .22lr prefered

Pink?

Just b/c I am a girl does NOT mean I'd want to have pink gun "accesories" LOL. I've seen a bunch of "cutsey" girly hunting/fishing items. I think it is pathetic and tacky. It is just one more thing that puts women in the shooting and hunting sport down a rung, why can't we all jsut be equal and shoot the same coloured, weighted guns and ammo?

Why pink? Why oh why? :)

The camo pink Rem 597 is my sister's (future) gun, she picked it out herself.

I handled the Mossberg 702 and Remington 597, side-by-side. The 597 had a notably better fit-and-finish, as well as "feel". However, you can find the Mossberg substantially discounted at certain outdoor emporiums.

Because thats what she wants, and she likes cute things. Not going the spray bomb route. It only puts you down a rung if you let it. Guys typically like black things, i don't feel berated if someone suggests i get a black gun because im a boy :p

she doesn't know what she wants, its a gift anyway. A surprise one. What i DO know, is that she wants a left hand gun, and she wants a pink rifle... And we always prefer mags to nomag. The 597 looks nice, i assume they eject right though?

It has been done before...

What a lovely picture! :)

I applaud you for thinking of this...who cares what colour the rifle is - as long as the shooter likes it!!!?? ANYTHING that will draw new shooters into our sport is a good thing!!!

GO PINK!!!!

Well, thanks guys 'n' gals, both for the help and the questions. For one, I think it's legit for the females here to question the pink thing, though I certainly don't see a pink rifle stock as a token of knocking 'em down a rung or any of that.

I'm definitely going to try and find out which is her dominant eye before moving on this. Incidentally, I recently realised that, though I'm a righty, my left eye is the dominant one. Maybe that's why I'm a less than crack shot ;)

If my wife would have asked me for a pink rifle to go hunting, before she LEFT me, I would have a got her a pink PGW Coyote.:):):):):):):):)
P.S no offense PGW, that is how much I would have her wanted her to come hunting with me.:cheers:

Simple little test but you have to get her to do the test without asking you why and without telling her you are trying to determine her dominant eye.
You simply get a piece of paper with a hole cut in it (quarter size should do) or holdout both hands overlapping one with the other and making a hoke between her thumbs and the rest of her fingers. Point the hole at an object and then ask her to bring the hole to one eye. 99% of the time she will bring it to her dominant eye.

The other test is the same thing but instead of moving the hole, close one eye, then try the other eye and which ever eye keeps the object in the hole is the dominant eye. You can also hold out a rifle or shotgun with both eyes open and and close one then the other and see which stays on target.
