(Pissed) FoxPro Spitfire failed after about 10 minutes

well I got my FoxPro Spitfire Thursday and used it for the first time Friday, I got all of ten minutes out of it when the speaker failed.

I called FoxPro and went through some steps like changing the card and batteries but this didn't work, I then thought to plug my headphones into the External speaker jack and got sound through my headphones but nothing through the main speaker, so this confirmed that the speaker or something leading to the speaker had failed.

needless to say I'm just a little bit pissed, a brand new caller used for no more then 10 minuets and now I've got to return it to Cabelas and wait another two or three weeks to get a replacement.

has this happened to anyone else.

Foxpro is one of those companies you can count on treating you right, good luck with the repair. My Fury has been flawless.
Just a bad egg in the bunch, they will fix it.
 
I called FoxPro (as I mentioned, second paragraph) on Friday as soon as I got home and spoke to Scott in tech support, that's who told me to change the batteries and try another SD card, he's the one that told me I'd have to return it to Cabelas where I got it from for an exchange.

I should say that I'm not bashing anyone (FoxPro or Cabelas) in the least with this thread, I know that no matter what the product is there's always going to be a certain percentage of that product that will be flawed, but, it would piss anyone off to wait almost two weeks for an item and then get it, use it for ten minutes and the dam thing give out, not to mention the walk to and from the spot that I picked to hunt.:mad::mad::mad:,

So you guys say to call FoxPro, should I just call sales or customer support or who???
I just want to get my caller replaced as soon as I can so I can get a few days in the woods before hunting ends for the season
 
I've put mine thru the grinder for the past three years with no problems...Had to charge the batteries twice. Just ordered a new sd card full of new sounds from them(FP)
If it makes you feel any better, we just put a new transmission in one of our helicopters (Millions$$$$$$) and it looks like it will be coming back out due to problems($$$$$$$$$$$$$.....

I understand where you come from... and you are right .. #### happens with manufacturers and you got a dud..... nice that you understand that it doesn't reflect on everything foxpro..... I am surprised you originally got referred back to cabelas though.... they tend to want to handle this stuff themselves.....

I didn't actually talk to anyone in customer service, I just spoke to Scott in tech support maybe that's why, he probably don't realize I could send it back to them

wouldn't it have been allot easier and faster to just buy the sounds from them and put them on a card yourself????, I bought the 8 pack and replaced some of the sounds on mine as soon as I got it, took just a few minutes and $15

I don't have a working caller but I've got a card with some great sounds on it:redface::rolleyes:
 
If you want a file with all of teh available free sounds PM me your email... it will save you from having to download... the call will only hold 24 at a time but at least you will have some choices... :)....
 
Working on getting these to you.... do you have the stereo cable?... you will have to pick one up at walmart for abou 3-4 bucks in order to sync the remote with the caller...
 
Update

I received an email from Joe Brumbaugh about an hour ago, and just got off the phone with him, he's sending a new caller to me and got me to pick out 24 calls of my choice to put on it on it, so as soon as they program it they'll be shipping it, also he told me not to send the defective one until I get the replacement.

Now that's service and trust, this guy don't know me from Adam, I could be feeding him a line of crap for all he knows but he has enough trust to just send a new caller on my word, WOW!!!! now that's customer service at it's best, wouldn't it be a pleasure if all transactions went this easy.

My hat's off to FoxPro and Joe Brumbaugh.:rockOn:Thk

that's fine whenever you get the chance to send them, it'll be a week or so before I get my new caller anyhow, and yes I do have the stereo cable, thanks again
