Pistol Ammo in Calgary

The McLeod trail Canadian tire only carries the 250 round value packs for handgun ammo. They also have an impressive display of rifles and shotguns for sale.

Better than the one on Richmond Rd. Their ammunition case consists of about a dozen boxes of assorted rifle rounds, another dozen of shotgun shells, and three boxes of .22 lr.

The McLeod trail store is owned by a very pro gun guy who hunts a lot. The store has Zeiss optics in stock. Not exactly a cheap line to be carrying. Their selection on ammo is good. Not as wide as WHS but then again they aren't a sporting goods store.

I was shocked when I walked in there and saw .40 SW, 9mm and .45 Auto. Its just to freaking bad that they want $100 for 250 rounds of UMC in .40. Way overpriced.

Lately that doesn't sound all that bad considering the price of new brass and bullets. I'd like to know where you are getting new factory ammo cheaper? Most every place I've gone to lately says "we are out", or "its still on order, check back in a week or two". I buy BDX when I can but sometimes that isn't available either. Nice to stock up on when it is though.

Another problem with BDX is that the selection has been limited to pistol rounds. A good supply of 9mm and .40S&W but .45ACP seems to be a bit harder to get at times. Have never been able to get .357 or .38Sp, never mind 44Mag or 45Colt. Not complaining mind you since I reload my own revolver ammo.

The prices on some ammo is over the top. However, its better to have some at high prices than nothing at all. For a crappy tire store, they have an excellent selection.
