Pistol Caliber Carbine

Hee hee, looks like I set a wave! Though .40 S&W would invariably be cheaper, it would be pointless (as it was originally a reduced version of the 10mm to be better managable in a handgun) so you may as well stick with the 9x19mm. The 10x25mm has much better ballistic energy and would therefore be more preferable in a subcarbine rather than in a handgun, due to longer barrel and shoulder support coupled with the greater power to make it a deadly accurate short range cartridge. Casings fitted with special aerodynamic (rifle-like) bullets, it would prove ever more effective fired from a subcarbine chambered in 10mm.

Nothing like shooting expensive 10mm factory ammo from an expensive restricted firearm.
The only reason to shoot a pistol carbine would be to reduce cost, not compound it.

A .40 cal would be the best choice. As long as it takes pistol mags.
Then everyone who shoots idpa or ipsc has a common caliber to work with.

You mean to tell me you shoot but don't reload?
I thought anyone who took more than a passing interest in shooting was also a reloader...:p

I wish Hornady would make a 200 grain .400 XTP in boat tail design like their 147 grain BTHP XTP in .356 ;)

I'd be up for 7.62x25mm as well, but 10x25mm would be my first choice out of those two. Regardless, anything other than the common 9x19mm or 11.4x23mm would be great (except for the 10x22mm, .40 S&W, which as a handgun caliber is good but you would definitely benefit more from the 10x25mm AUTO in a subcarbine).

Or... could go all out with a 12.7x33mm Action Express! That'd be interesting...

A gun capable of taking glock mags in the standard glock calibers.

9mm, 40, 45, maybe go with some of the other mentioned calibers too.

.45 is a great round for a carbine, especially if you have pistol mags so they can have 10 rounds :D

I guess this is about autoloaders but my Marlin 94 in .357mag pumps 'em out quick and accurate, hits harder than most other pistol calibers too.

Its probably because the thing folds up like that. They have a lot of stupid laws, (and stupid people making them) so im sure they would have found an excuse to not let it in, ALA the 40mm grenade training rounds and such. (kept messing with it till they got what they wanted)
