I bought one of those new Ruger RedHawks in 45ACP/45 LC thinking I would just run 45ACP in it because I am so heavily invested in that round. But the gun is showing a preference for .45 LC ammo - with 250 grainers stoked with that ever-so-cheap Scandihoovian VVN330. The stubby little revolver shoots like a house on fire with it. More powder, more brass, different bullets, more, more, more! MOAR!!!!! GAH - so much for common components...:(

Okay already! It's another money sink... But now I think I want one of those cute little lever guns in 45LC! Any of you boys ever do the pistol/carbine/same calibre thing? I am looking at those little Rossi levers with a chopped 16" barrel and think it would be an absolute hoot on the 200m gong at the rod and gun club and maybe some can-opening work at closer ranges. Is there any merit to this concept in your opinion? Can those little levers do more than plink?

You can look forward to lots of hours at the reloading bench trying to make one load shoot well in both!!
