I bought one of those new Ruger RedHawks in 45ACP/45 LC thinking I would just run 45ACP in it because I am so heavily invested in that round. But the gun is showing a preference for .45 LC ammo - with 250 grainers stoked with that ever-so-cheap Scandihoovian VVN330. The stubby little revolver shoots like a house on fire with it. More powder, more brass, different bullets, more, more, more! MOAR!!!!! GAH - so much for common components...
Okay already! It's another money sink... But now I think I want one of those cute little lever guns in 45LC! Any of you boys ever do the pistol/carbine/same calibre thing? I am looking at those little Rossi levers with a chopped 16" barrel and think it would be an absolute hoot on the 200m gong at the rod and gun club and maybe some can-opening work at closer ranges. Is there any merit to this concept in your opinion? Can those little levers do more than plink?
