Pistol case from CT....no pelican but not too bad

I bought one and found the foam was not thick enough to provide a good hold on my guns, they would slide to the bottom of the case. I don't want to use the foam cut outs as they limit what I can pack in it. I ended up putting news paper under the bottom and top foam to raise them in order for them to hold my guns in place. Other than that it makes a good case. Just check your foam hold first before you load it up and scratch your guns. Also beware of the 2 clips that hold the screwdriver insert in place, they could scratch your guns too. I bent my back so they are now under the foam.

Yes that is it. It comes with the foam inside as well as the slots to make the compartments. The foam is sliced into rectangle boxes that you can tear out to create the holes for items to fit into. You should sort of be able to see it in my picture. The lid of the case has a pouch built into it, it's behind the solid layer of foam in my picture.
Thanks. Gonna pick one up today.

Thanks to OP for posting about these, I picked one up this afternoon. Pop riveted a hasp onto it and I have an idiotic firearms law compliant case. The hasp was ~$2 and the lock came in a two pack for $11.

The hasp:

Closed with a small combo lock on it (I won't use a keyed lock for anything firearms related):

A shot of 4 pistols laying inside, to give an idea of size:

Why dont you just take the cut-out foam of the shape of the pistol and cut that in half, width wise and stuff it back in the hole so it sits about half way in???

I did this for my 2 skorpions and now they wont fall out of place when I carry the case around upright.

I guess you didn't read my whole post. By taking out the inserts it limits which guns I can carry in the case.

Picked one up today...best bang for your buck I think... Think I'll be bending those tabs back too. With cut outs, I fit 2 pistols and their mags, and still have room for a little more.

Well, the best I could do, was fit 4 revolvers and one auto. Trigger locks take up way too much room to do any better. Guess I'm stuck with the two MTM 4 stackers:(
