Pistol case from CT....no pelican but not too bad

Thanks for the post OP. I picked up the last one my local CTC had in stock today. It was supposed to be the last day of the sale but someone said they are on sale quite often. Still a good deal for 20 bucks though.

I guess you didn't read my whole post. By taking out the inserts it limits which guns I can carry in the case.

SO you are only taking a certain amount of pistols with you to the range then.

Just what I need, more cases to lug to the range.

Get another case and leave one at home, considering you are only bringing a few pistols with you anyway

Thanks Mitzy. Grabbed one today. Local store had 3 in stock.

Thanks to Matt too. I'll rivet a latch on too. Those 'keys' feel like crap.

Its funny, I went to the range today and a person asked me about the case and thought it was in excess of $200 to purchase. I just laughed and watched his expression when I told him it only cost $20.

Great box, I really do like.

Yeah the keys and the locks feel pretty cheap, but hey it's $20. If you're worried just attach a locking system like another member did. But really you only have to lock it for the silly transport laws and maybe when you're going down range to change a target. It will stand up to both :D

Absolutely they would. They're not garbage, they're just not sturdy either. And like Matt I prefer combo locks. I'm 40 minutes from my range, and forgetting a key would really ruin my day. A few bucks guarantees that won't happen.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the tool pouch they include. Don't want to just throw it away. Ideas?

Good thing you mentioned this. I put mine in recycling and it had the keys tucked in one of the pockets. Guess what I was doing this morning.

Mine is hidden behind the top layer of foam inside the lid. Behind it is a copy of my reg certs and LTATT. The pouch packs my mags and various other tools I might need. The pockets hold 1911 mags. It was tight at first but I left them in there for a bit and the fake leather stretched enough so now they just slide in.
