The bear I shot last year when we were hunting together doesn't rank rigth up there in the flavour category!!;)

If you want the bear for meat, I'd shoot a smaller one than mine...Or at least try a steak off the bear prior to spending alot of $$ on butchering services.

This bear is about a rank as one I ever have tasted, sorta reminds me of what a spawned out salmon would taste like...:)

Although you could boil the whole thing up and vac pac it and freeze it for your dog. I think Ackley said that he did that for his dog.

Oh yeah...shoot them bears with a arifle, don't use a shottie!! Shotties don't work as good as big rifles!:)
 
best meat I've ever had was from a bear I shot out of a Blueberry Patch. smelled like fresh Jam when i was dressing him out :)

not as much of a fan of spring yogi's.....

Ahh...it's okay...

I don't hunt bears for the meat, anyway. Other wise I would shoot dink bears ....:)

that one was scored by an official scorer and it ends up about 1/2 way up the record book. I didn't bother to list it, though..
 
i only hunt the bears in the spring when they are only eating grass and berries they dont have the fishy tast if you get them then :D
i also find they are stupider they let you walk up on them as they are still tired and lazy.

Well - i think with the 14 inch barrel, most shotters would be too short.

(Hey - i don't want to honk off amphib, but i'll be darned if i bow to convention either :) )
