Place of birth needed for Ammo purchase ?

A Possession and Acquisition License (PAL) is required to purchase ammunition. I work at a gun store in Canada (DoubleTap Sports) and we do not require by law your PLACE of birth. Date of birth, yes, as it is the information stated on your PAL. Is that maybe what you meant? I hope this helps.

This is new to me. I checked it out just now. You are right, it does say "Place of Birth (City where you were born) [Required ONLY for Restricted Firearms] " on their website. I'm guessing it must be a company policy for whatever their reason may be but as far as I know it is not required by law to disclose what city you were born in. Strange.
