:agree: I'm kind of surprised it was this seller. As I posted earlier, send it back and don't even try removing the thread protector, you're more than likely going to damage it.
 
You are extremely forgiving, people need to be fair in their disclosure or they need to be punished with feedback.

Acetone will take care of CA (crazy/super) glue or epoxy. As suggested test it on the finish somewhere hidden first, but it should be ok. Regardless as long as there is no crack or other damage, once you get the glue off it should be ok. Nice gun by the way!
 
At least get a little money refunded for the cleaning, otherwise this guy is getting away with it. Of course it's your decision, but you were unhappy enough to make a thread about it... :confused:
 
Acetone is a good solvent. I got some on my P239 without ill effects.

Acetone, in a well ventilated space, maybe with Lionel Ritchie in the background singing "stuck on you"...

The P239 is a very nice gun, HunterHenderson. You should have had a better first date.
