your fakepoint will not lat more then 100rds of slugs.

I recently picked up a used Remington 870. I have a leftover Fakepoint which I have put onto the 870 using a factory Remington mount. After reading some of the post, I am going to move the Fakepoint a bit more forward :)

These are my questions:

1) Once I get it out to the range, will the fakepoint be able to handle the recoil of slugs?( I am going to sight it in for 50 m's).

2) Will the Remington Scope mount do it's job?

I guess I'm lucky... My aimpoint knockoff is still working OK after 500 slugs...

Of course, it's not mounted on a Remington... that must be why :pirate:

I guess we will have to see what happens. The worse thing I guess is that I have to spend another $80 for a fakepoint.

When you guys say that the Fakepoint will get destroyed, what do you mean? (the scope falls apart, doesn't hold zero? etc)

Dracconian,

Be aware that the fakepoint will most likely slide in the knockoff mount... at least mine did, until it rested on the side of the tube flare.

On the one I've seen died, the red-dot would dissapear/flicker... Luck of the draw I guess.

Would I buy another one... to mount a .22lr, probably. To mount in the SG... I'd probably have a look at the Bushnell or Burris. You'd get a warranty if the died.

SM,

I have a factory remington mount and a weaver ring for the Fakepoint, are there still going to be any problems as you have stated?
