I recently picked up a used Remington 870. I have a leftover Fakepoint which I have put onto the 870 using a factory Remington mount. After reading some of the post, I am going to move the Fakepoint a bit more forward
These are my questions:
1) Once I get it out to the range, will the fakepoint be able to handle the recoil of slugs?( I am going to sight it in for 50 m's).
2) Will the Remington Scope mount do it's job?
your fakepoint will not lat more then 100rds of slugs.

I guess I'm lucky... My aimpoint knockoff is still working OK after 500 slugs...
Of course, it's not mounted on a Remington... that must be why![]()
Dracconian,
Be aware that the fakepoint will most likely slide in the knockoff mount... at least mine did, until it rested on the side of the tube flare.
On the one I've seen died, the red-dot would dissapear/flicker... Luck of the draw I guess.
Would I buy another one... to mount a .22lr, probably. To mount in the SG... I'd probably have a look at the Bushnell or Burris. You'd get a warranty if the died.
I use mine with the mount that came with it... and I could never get it tight enough not to slip.
Might be different with the weaver ring... You'll just have to try it out and let us know![]()
