PLS REMOVE - What 1911 .45 should i buy? Help!

Ok boys, it's down to 2.

1. STI hi cap worth 1.5k
2. Colt + upgrades worth 1.5k

Now, for 1.5K, i can get 2 .45s too you know, lol
so this will be my "3rd" option.
3a. BUL-M5 (which is actually a kimber hi cap w/out the "Kimber" brand 699.00+tax) and,
3b. XDM 45 around 750.00+tax.

Though i still have to wait for the XDMs since they have not landed Canada yet correct?

.....almost there...

get a arma coated norinco frame and get them turned/ upgrade some parts....at least that is what i did/ am doing... or a dan wesson

Yes i forgot, that one is included.
Now i have surfed the web for all the reviews and i now know that there is no "perfect" 1911 out there. Just when i thought i have decided, some odd negative review comes out.
My purpose for the 1911 is for stock target shooting. I will not replace any part unless it fails or breaks.
Also, any of you heard about the 1911 BUL-M5? It's a polymer framed 1911 made in Israel and has good feedback.
Will you guys buy a polymer framed 1911?

POLYMER

Yipes

Get the Colt of the ones you've listed. They look nice, hold their value, and have the best quality small parts of any of the mainstream production 1911s. I would not rule out a Dan Wesson or a Dlask, either.

1911s work best in the original configuration: 5", steel single stack frame, and .45 ACP. The further you depart from this, the harder it is to make it run properly.

If you are willing to entertain a polymer framed .45, definitely get a a S&W M&P 45 over the XDM.

The 2011s etc RARELY run as well as the single stacks and in Canada you are buying an extra 2 rounds with that fat grip and decreased reliablity...

You can get 10 round mags for single stack 1911s easily out of the US and 8 round mags are practically the standard these days.

A colt series 70 repro with a few hundred bucks of tuning will be a serious pistol...if these are the options you should DEFINITELY jump on the Colt.

Alright then! Colt it is.
But....
based on the web reviews i will not buy the series 89. Is this correct? they have bad rep.
So i will search for the Colt series 70, if there's a bnew one out there! or mint!

Of your listed choices, I'd buy the Colt. It is the original and of them all, it will hold its value the best in the event you ever go to sell it.

The Series 80 firing pin block isn't that big of a deal. It works the best out of any of the various systems used on modern 1911s. It does make for a bit of extra work in doing a trigger job and it isn't absolutely necessary. If you decide you don't like it, you can get rid of the extra parts fairly easily.

Update:
I found a Colt XSE 5" SS Bnew for $1525.00+tax+shipping.
And someone is selling a Colt XSE Commander SS for 1099.00 including shipping, hopefully no tax with 2000+ rounds down the tube.

Which is a better deal?

Man thats a lot of cake to spend on a gun you haven't even fired or held i'm guessing. Just gonna take everyone's word for it? One thing i've learned is its all personal on which is better, hand size, shooting style, value, looks are all subjective. Anyway way for you to try some of these out before you buy? It might save you some cash in the end!!! I am a norc fully tuned kind of guy.

I know, but i am 100% sure i like the 1911. i have handled and shoot one before.
Price wise, these Colts are selling at 900 bucks in the U.S.
It is sad how the price doubles just because we are here in Canada....but...
I just found someone selling a blued Government Bnew XSE govt. for 1400.
Will search for more better prices!
I have 1 week to do it.
I have nothing against Norc. They function for the intended purpose and that is good.

The reason i want a Colt because i am a traditionalist and Colt is a must have for me.
Also i am going to use the 1911 platform for target shooting.
My "other" future HD pistol will be in .45 so it only makes sense for me to stick to one type of ammo.

Back to web searching for better deals!

I'd pass on the Commander. As I mentioned, 5" 1911 tend to work best and the shorter barrel is pointless for paper punching.
