PMAG M3: First Impressions

In truth a windowed Emag or Pmag is my preference, and in reality although these are the new addition of improved AR Magazine, I don't think all be rushing out to get these anytime soon, practically all the mags out there are more than adequate for our needs in LEO/MIL....and especially in civilian hands...

I've just watched the review of "Magpul PMAG Gen M3 5.56x45 Magazine Overview" on Youtube. The good thing of this rev M3 is the rear cut of the follower is wider than on the MOE or rev M, technically it will help the bolt hold open on CSA VZ58 5.56 Magwell Adaptor function better/properly, IMHO. But anyhow, I need to get my hands on one of this rev M3 and test run to see how it works on my VZ58. Just need to wait.

This guy has "more than 10 available" @ $50 each... Calls 'em "REBUILD KITS"...

They look like bonafide 30rd Magpul M3 mags to me...

What do these features do?

- over-travel insertion stop = Just how it sounds, a molded part of the mag that doesn't allow it to be "over-inserted" in the mag-well.

- marking matrix = Is the series of dimpled squares at the base, these allow simple letters or numbers to be marked on the mag for reference.

(IE: name, or # in a series to keep track of individual mags for maintainance purposes)

I keep thinking to myself that I shouldn't have marked them since none of them have failed me so I don't need to keep track of them... Eh!

Why am I not suprised that yet again Magpul decides to release something new, yet doesnt account for the "everybody wanting one"... yet again.

+1 I want one. I need some for the MR223A1 that's "on the way" :evil grin:

I wouldn't be surprised if these never make it here. Nice, but what are these going to do in an AR that other 5-rounders won't? The window is all but irrelevent for civi shooters here.

All depends on what happens in the US (I believe an announcement on the high-capacity magazine aspect is expected tomorrow).

What will these do that the other PMAGs won't? More durable and reliable in extreme temperatures. Mine are the non-window version (don't even think Magpul has tooled up for the windowed version with everything that's happened).

Whoa...where can I get that pink shyt from?

I don't know if any dealers are carrying it yet, but Brownells is starting to carry some of it (haven't seen the gray - just the pink).

Just ordered myself half a dozen Gen3 Pmags from a certain CGN retailer that starts with a Q and ends with a star....tricky I know

Cant wait to compare them with my Gen2 Pmags, not to mention actually having a decent amount of magazines now!

The PMAG M3 is definitely an improvement, but there's still nothing wrong for the original PMAGs, either. I think the PMAG M3 will prove more effective in cold weather environments.

Well I see the gouging has begun... Gen2's listed for $24.99, when just weeks ago we were getting them for less than $20.

Stock of the M3's seems to have all but disappeared within the last 5 minutes.

Get em while you can.

It was bound to happen sooner or later. Many distributors and suppliers in the US are no longer taking new dealer orders, so I suspect some of the "hot ticket" items have to be sourced directly from other more expensive sources. The PMAG M3 was in limited quantity even before this. I assume if the PMAG MOE is now listed for $25 that the PMAG M3 was $30 or more?
