Poll: how many people know about your firearms

when I was a kid and my dad showed me his guns he told me, never tell people outside the house that there are guns here. Now that I am getting into the hobby and people are asking me whether I bought anything yet I am wondering how much I should keep to myself.

How many people do you tell that you own guns?

A) Only me and the dog know

B) Family and close friends only

C) Anybody, but I don't make a point of telling people unless the topic comes up

D) My bumper stickers tell all!

I'd have to say I fall in category C. If the topic comes up, I will tell anyone that I hunt/target shoot and have "a few guns to fill the various needs".

BUT ... category B fully applies when it comes to discussing the actual quantity of my collection. Joe Stranger that stops and talks to me about my camo hat, a bumper sticker, etc.. will easily find out that I "own guns" ... but he won't be finding out that the number of them is currently floating around the 100 mark.

Mostly just close friends and family knows about my guns. I get nervous when I leave home that someone is going to break into my home, and steal my guns so I keep it pretty quiet. Its not that I don't trust the people who know, but I might not trust there sons friends who have been to Juve Hall.
