Poll: knife carrying

Pretty much agree here...
Regardless of what sillyass laws/bylaws etc that may be in play....carrying a reasonably sized knife/multitool etc is benign and doesn't/shouldn't raise any legal concern...of any kind.
And to the nanistate lunatics who are "uncomfortable" with someone having such a article on their person....they need to shake their heads and understand that it is intent and or actions that constitute a threat...any threat...and they are at risk to same at all times regardless of what they see or are uncomfortable about.....these sheeple won't have the situational awareness or common sense to avoid moving traffic or other day2day actual threats.

I literally chuckle/ignore when someone makes a negative remark to me regarding having a knife on my person.

All this aside...the choir may sit...

I always carry an edc folder....have since my childhood.
As routine as putting on my watch....feel naked without either.
I routinely have use for it in daily civilian life....and I carry several different knives and multitools professionally as a Paramedic....routinely deploy them in time sensitive scenarios to good effect....nobody seems to snivel about havin a knife handy then... :) :)

As a young soldier I also routinely carried a folder and multitool...and when armed a fixed blade sheath knife and a rifle bayo. Goes without sayin" I "spose.

Yep. I've become the go-to guy in the office when someone needs a knife/pliers tool.

Funny thought: I wonder if the day will come that the metal staplers get replaced by non-scary plastic ones, because someone is afraid of it (lol! they can't have my bright red Swingline Model 747 with precision-ground stainless steel chisel-point ammo, er, staples - it's the Buick of staplers!)

I carry a knife always, just a habit. Being in IT, I am always cutting down boxes and whatnot when we get new hardware in and so no. Just good to have.

Good for letter and parcel opening, and cutting meat and cheese while snacking on the road. Just have to remember to leave it at home before taking a flight.

Yes! I carry a knife (folder) everyday. Why? In case l need it... carrying a folder for me is like carrying a watch... I feel naked if I don't have one on me!! ;)

I’ve been using mine for a hammer ever since MacGyver invented the Swiss Army knife...lol
But seriously, who doesn’t have a knife in their pocket? Tsk tsk... Unprepared.

Don't leave home without one and feel damn naked if I do. I am actually more apt to forget my wallet than a blade. Reason is it has a million and one uses throughout the day. A pocket clip folder that most times you don't even know its there. The fact it is orange and peeks above my pocket alleviates any concealment issues

1. Yes
2. One can always use a knife

My Böker Kalashnikov 74 (non spring loaded version) has been my EDC since 2008

Nonono. Never carry a knife. There's always one nearby when I need it. I see those people that like to advertise that they're into guns with the Browning stickers all over their truck rockin' the camo jacket at Safeway, and a knife on the belt I just shake my head inside knowing that whatever it is, I don't lack it.

Face it people some of you carry knives because you're not allowed to carry guns!

Other than camping, in the bush or at work (in which case I always have a knife available) I cannot remember the last time I've found myself in a situation where I've needed one.

I always have either my boot knife or a folding pocket knife with me. I also carry a tactical pen mostly cause it’s nice to always have a pen handy but it would also be useful for defence rather than knifing someone.

Camping in the bush or cottage country it's a must. In the city not so much but I have been known to toss on in my backpack occasionally, they are useful tools.

Everyday, everywhere, and use it multiple times some days, not having a knife on me feels like I would if I forgot my shoes.

I know where you're coming from. If the pocket clip is on yesterday's jeans, I'll drive back home to get it. Otherwise, how do you clean your fingernails, or pick that piece of moose from your teeth or cut some of those Godforsaken blisterpackaging from an NGK sparkplug? All kind of disadvantages don't you agree?
