Well I went to the local gun store the other day and handled both the M&P and Glock. After about 25 minutes of handling and dry firing both I decided on the Glock. It just felt better in my hands, even after trying the small and medium backstraps on the M&P. The Glock pointed more naturally for me (the angle on the M&P also pointed a bit low for me, which further proves that the Glock angle is more natural for me), I liked the trigger on the Glock better (both the pull and the shape), and contrary to what I had thought, the blockier grip of the Glock just locked into my hand better (fit a lot better than I had remembered). I had to keep readjusting my grip with the M&P.
Thanks for all the input guys. It was greatly appreciated. I ordered my G17 from Police Ordinance yesterday (who gives STELLAR service btw), and since I live in Ontario, I should have the gun by the time I am 80 if the CFO has their way
I am already having some fun ordering some different parts from glockparts.com (3.5lb connector, extended slide release, some Wolff springs, etc to try them out). Nice to know if I ever need parts they are cheap, easy to get, and plentiful.
Now let's sit back and watch the firefight from TDC's comment LOL
