POS Remington rant

It is built for nothing other than to be cheap to manufacture, that's why the US military has it as well; it's cheaper than the other options. .

Wow....and here I thought you were one of the smart CGN'ers. :HR:

You know, because really, a Model 700 action is cheaper than a Model 70/Vanguard/Sako Model 85/any action to use to install a Krieger barrel, McMillan Stock, doctored trigger, etc etc onto.

Did you actually even read your post over for logic before you hit the "submit reply" button?

Model 7 Trigger

Gentlemen,

Being a "low post count" member, I haven't posted pictures before. Hope this works. This is the trigger assembly from the Model 7 that my son was using. The sealant is still over the heads of the adjustment screws. I assume this is the older model of trigger...?

Thank you.

Janesy,

The trigger was one of their new X-mark pro adjustable. Not a Walker. As I stated, the more and more I worked the safety the less and less it fired when flicked off. It hasen't done it at all now. Did it just have to be worked in? I have no clue, but it shouldn't be like that from the factory. The trigger adjusment was light from the store, but still had travel left. I unscrewed it to the maximum amount of travel and the safety still isn't firing when flicked off. To be safe I have it tightened up a little more than it came from the store. It hasen't been firing when flicked to off and I've probably done it 50 or so times since it last did it. I really don't want to be out the gun during coyote season either. What do you guys figure. Just get it checked out by a gunsmith? Send it to Remington? Or just don't worry about it, worst thing that can happen is I miss out on a yote because the gun fired when the safety was flicked off.

Remington standard operation proceedure is to replace ANY trigger that gets returned on any gun, either if faulty or seen as tampered with, be it by a professional or not. If you send it back you will be out months without your gun.

I would personnal just find another Xmark(Or even better, a tuned walker by guntek) and drop it in, i know its a pain to have to spend more, but hey I'd rather not miss yote season.

Heck I've got a take out trigger I would lend you if you cant find one.

Until you get it fixed, I would stop using the safety and only put a round in the chamber when I was going to shoot...

The trigger being light from the store sounds suspect... new 700's do not come with light triggers.
