possible heads up for sks owners

Canadian tire can go back to not selling guns for all I care, they don't support the gun community or shooting sports as far as I'm concerned. So I'll just continue to support local gun stores that do or online CGN sponsors or the ee. CT can eat a ####.

My local CT is my LGS. Independently owned and operated. All staff there involved in firearm sales are trained on the product and have PAL certification paid by the store owner.

I am more referring to the lack of enthusiasm, then credentials.. my bad… I should be more tolerant of CT staff running away from potential customers.

that makes more sense. but you cant paint every store with the same brush. The two i frequent, are always helpful, the staff they have working in the sports section seem to rathern enjoy their jobs and quite a few of them own and use firearms.

...any follow up on why this happened? (...obviously logic doesn't come to play into this...not looking for that!)

Checked my CT about 15 min ago.

20 SKS rifles on display! Right beside the Mosins, SVTs, K31, Suomis, K98s... :D

WOW ,that`s a nice mix of firesticks .....and a K31 and Suomis yet !!

You are fortunate indeed.

I would still like to know why they pulled the Russians from various locations ,perhaps they`ll come back ?

just got off the phone...

Pembroke was just informed they have to take the SKS OFF the shelves. there is apparently going to be an investigation as to how "Canadian Tire could have sold a Full Auto rifle".

my best guess... they sold the guy a semi......................... and it wasnt cleaned.....

A SKS rifle purchased at Canadian Tire went full auto.
This occured at Silverdale Gunclub
Gunsmith was contacted.
Rifle was repaired by said gunsmith.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that rifle was defective, or needed detailed cleaning, and repair was easily and inexpensively accomplished.

Good to see that everything went well. :bangHead:

Hahah! I was in CT yesterday buying a crate of 762x39, and the store manager was getting into the gun case and removing their only SKS on display, I was going to ask why, but didn't. I guess I know why now.

My wife is the office manager at a CT. Asked her and other than what's been reported here is all had office has told them. I'll put money on the slam fire theory. I'll report back as soon as I hear something.

When will people learn how to clean guns properly. There must a thousand bids on YouTube about the SK and how to check the firing pin. That and if CT checked with their supplier I am sure this could have been solved quickly. So stupid . Maybe they should stick to selling new guns and leave the mislurps to people who know.
