I bought this one about 2 years ago and have used it several times. I have had 2x '51 Tulas and it worked on both. Mine only cost $15 back then but that's how everything is going. I think the 'piss poor reviews' are by 'not-handy' persons. Some people can't do sh-- w/o someone holding their hand. JMO-YMMV

My type 56 front sight doesn't want to budge. The steel sighting tool warps and bends when attempting to make adjustments. Hence the small front rail and red dot..

Awesome, thanks for your input!

And thats kinda why I asked here, since these tools all look pretty similar I would imagine they should all work.

Going to order it now, hopefully get it before the weekend so I can get it adjusted before heading to the range.

This is the best I managed with my SKS at 50 yards. On average, I'll be making 1-2" groups at that distance. The rifle is a Russian 1952 refurb, in a laminate stock, using Barnaul.

Top my 1964 Type 56. bottom target was with my 66 Type 56. both have a spike bayo.. pretty solid for a sks's. think they out shoot my russian.

Was at the range yesterday with bubba's Tula. She still minute-of-pie plate at 100yds with norc copper washed, about minute-of-saucer with Ruag.
 
I had a Yugo that would be consistent between 1.5 and 2” after a trigger and a “bedding” job was done. When we would weight sort the ammo, it shot and shot quite well. The guys at the Rocky Mountain house club got a kick out of how well it did, easily a 10/10 on the Ram at the time.

I was stupid and got bored and sold it. Dumb dumb dumb. Could have made my money back betting on groups with that thing.
