Potential for a "more affordable" Bullpup Bolt Action Precision/Hunting Rifle.

What some of these people aren't understanding is that the bolt action bullpup will bring accuracy to the platform that the semis only dream of. You can use it in the bush for close shots AND use it in the open for longer range shots that I would never feel comfortable taking with any of the semiautomatic bullpups I've owned.

It's the ability to use 1 compact firearm for different purposes that apeals to me.

Same here, and thats why folks want this!

Not a bolt action, but for DRE369 it might.

Or the possibly upcoming Desert Tech MDR. It baffles me that they can produce a semi for a little over 3k$can but not a more affordable bolt gun. I suppose they don’t want sub grade accuracy interfering with their premium platforms. But it’s crazy! a calibre conversion cost close to what an MDR costs? I guess if I had that kind money to burn it wouldn’t matter. The cost hasn’t stopped me from wanting an SRS covert though.

Its all about the money. They can charge up the nose for mil and LE contracts, so they charge the consumer the same to legitimize it IMO.

That's interesting. I remembered seeing a bullpup with a wooden stock at the Calgary Shooting Center years ago when they first opened, but I think it was very pricey, like 10g or something so I pretty much ignored it haha.

I know this tread is about "bolt action" bullpups, but I really like that the Sommer & Okenfuss rifle didn't have an external bolt handle. I think the pump-action bullpup is the way forward IF one doesn't want a semi-auto.

it definitely makes more sense for a bullpup design.
