Powder coat 45acp.

So, with the dry tumble method you described in a #5 food container, do the bullets have to be resized afterward?
That would be something else I'd have to get, I reload but don't cast, lube, or size bullets.

From my experience (1 day of powder coating lol) you do 1 coat and bake it, then size. Then coat a second time (it will depend on how well the powder sticks the first time) and size again.

With my 357 bullets after 1 coat, sizing and second coat the diameter went from 358" to 359".

If you can load the bullet in the case and still have it chamber and aren't near max pressure, you'll be fine without sizing.

I did these today with tgic free powders. The results are not as good as tgic powers but i am sure they will shoot fine.

First up is the green, this was 2 coats.

I also tried some 44mag in blue, this is also 2 coats. I should point out that with 1 coat it looked much better but i was trying to cover some small spots that didnt get a coat so i tried a second.

The above are all before sizing.

Afte sizing some of the blue was removed from the 44mag. I think 2 coats is to thick for the blue.

i thought i ordered 3 tgic free powders, but after looking at them only 1 of my 4 powders was tgic free, the red. when i heated the bullets enough all the powders seemed to stick decently enough. the green powder that was on sale didn't stick very well, but it was mixed with the yellow which stuck first. once i find a 4th food container i will try green.

Target, it was to try and cover every part of the bullet, the blue that i use dosnt need a second coat.

If you look at the pics of the barrel in the first post those are after firing with 2 coats. I went to the range yesterday with normal alox bullets and the barrel had bits lead, and was very dirty compared to the pc bullets.

I will be taking the green bullets to the range tomorrow to see how clean they shoot.

This is the barrel after shooting alox coated bullets.
