I tried ordering Phantom Goss last Thursday and none was available so substituted with Satin, hasn't arrived yet but hope it works as well.
By coincidence I just sized some of the Rifle boolits i did with some "trial" powder Auggie was kind enough to send me to give this a try. One thing I noticed was the ease that the coated boolits go through the 450 sizer ( Dry, as Spawn did) The first slugs I coated I got too much powder on them they originally were .458 dia and after coating were all the way up to .465 with an extreme amount of flashing. I sized them down to .459 with less effort than it took to size some "dry/before coating" bullets from .458 down to .456.
If these coated boolits skid down the bore with as little resistance as there was in the sizer die they should scoot right along. Another thing that surprised me was the boolits that needed the big downsizing didn't have any degradation/chipping of the powder coat coverage.
Subsequent coating test turned out much better with 1 to 2 thou thickness and virtually no flashing, They sized almost effortlessly.
All the above being said, the real acid test will be if the shoot adequately LOL

I'm new to this also.Can you explain or show a pic of what flashing is.

It's when you have to much powder coating material on your bullets. When you bake them standing on end, it melts down toward the base and forms around the base of the bullet. Not a huge deal for plinking although I'm not sure powder coat bullets are used for match ammo. It will break off when running the bullet through a sizer and outside of a bit of mess it's not a big deal.

I received my Phantom Satin Black (Gloss wasn't available) a couple days ago ( it took an extended vacation trip around the countryside before landing here) and I got a chance to try it last night.
The coverage wasn't as thick as I get with Gloss black but still a usable coverage and survived the "hammer" test.

I bought 3 lbs of tool blue from them last week, must have been near the end of what they had in stock. Did up some 9mm and was very pleased with the results. There is something to how long you shake the bullets around in the container. Anything less than a min or so, doesn't seem to give as good of coverage. It has solved the leading issue I was having with my 9mm.
no gas checks, its made for gas checks but i never use them.
What is TGIC, and why is it bad?
