Best gun salesman are U.S. presidents. The more anti gun they are the more guns people buy. Look what happened here with the Turds recent bans. Greatest increase in pistol sales in Canadian history before the ban. Same with AR’s and other black rifles. TELL US we can’t have something and we want it even if we didn’t want it before.
If you lived through the '70s you'll realize we don't have record inflation. Still much more than the Bank Of Canada is comfortable with, so we get higher interest rates to quell demand. Though as one on a fixed income, what we have is bad news.
Pre and during the pandemic I took advantage of everyone jumping on the 6 something needmore crazy and off loading anything 308 related and hoarded as much possible powder and bullets.
Finally found a large stash of Win Staball Match at $66.00 per pound.
Let's see what the going price is for them in distant future.
Paid $49.99 for IMR 3031 from a LGS in the east end of Toronto many years ago. Now, LGS in the north end of Toronto is listing them for $71.99
Maybe its more sane in the states, but N570 powder pricing has gone up ~35% since the pandemic.
Just looked at my order history for N570 since 2021. All in costs, including shipping and taxes, was $140.64/kg in 2021, $178.20/kg in mid-2023 and $190.34/kg from 2 weeks ago. Same CGN vendor.

Only if you'rer living 20 years in the past and comparing surplus powder prices to equivalent commercial offerings of the present day.
I tend to do the same thing and bought a lot of powder from Tom before he passed.
A lot of it was free, because I did a lot of load testing for them and a lot of it was under $5/pound.
I have a few pounds of powder from Old Tom, and I buy bulk orders from Andrew still.
Great people!
