Ppq q5 match range reports

I have a short list of handguns still to try/own & this is at the top! I've viewed all the videos on youtube & I'm sold.
Paying the extra price over a regular 5" m2 is worth it in my opinion. The upgraded sights. The extra magazine (i need a min 3). The trigger is supposedly better
 
The gun is very accurate. The only problem is that mine broke. A piece broke off the slide lock and it will not lock open after last shot. I just sent it in for warranty. I should get it back in 8 weeks. Was going to use it in my next IPSC comp, but now I will have to wait.

Did you ask if they could ship ship the slide stop?

Or are they readily available

You would think that is a operator replaceable part.
 
I was told by Walther that it has to go in for warranty work. It is up to the warranty company to decide if it will be fixed under warranty.
 
Mine just arrived today. I got a great deal at P&D who seem to have the lowest prices in the country. I will try to get out this weekend for a range report. It will be short due to the heavy rains predicted. The test target that came with my gun is a 15 metre target.
 
thanks guys...interested to see what kind of practical accuracy the pistol squaks out and how you feel the trigger is.

I also want to look into the availability of OEM parts....never owned a walther before

I haven't shot bench groups with mine yet, but I was putting holes in empty shotgun shells at 10ish yards the first day I had it out. I love the sights.

Modern Walther pistols have a pretty outstanding reputation for quality and reliability. However, at least here in canada, their warranty service BLOWS. I have been waiting 7 months for a spring for my PPQ .22. That's ridiculous. Oh and Walther never responded to my two messages through their service portal...I had to contact the distributor through my LGS. This was my big hesitation before buying the Q5.

This would be a concern for me in purchasing any gun where i see comments here about various manufacturers and the poor or non existent service/parts. I will stick with Glock, CZ and older S&W revolvers as i have ready access to parts and armorers. I have only had to access factory parts for my Rugers and Snapshot has been OK for me for that.
 
yes, unfortunately, Walther and HK, they both make excellent products but its support or the lack thereof, is annoying. Which is why I no longer own any of those brands.
Glock and CZ are the ones that I shoot with right now in IPSC.

It ran flawless, I really dig this gun. I was easily knocking down B zones at 20-25 yards. The only issue I had was when the windage screw backed out and threw my sights out of whack forcing me to finish the stage aiming two feet left of anything I wanted to hit. It now has blue locktite on it.

Weird to quote myself but I got a little excited when I saw PPQ. I need to correct my statement since I got the regular PPQ 5", and not the Match. Sorry for any confusion.
 
I've done some more research and the pistol sounds awesome

Unfortunately, the lack of oem and aftermarket parts has kind of turned me away from it. Don't think i will be running a pistol that can't be fixed quickly if something breaks.

Also, It sounds like this pistol easily falls below the 5lb trigger pulled required for IPSC production as well
 
I shot a 1.5" group free standing at 17 yards today. I thought it was good, but I thought I could do better...9 rounds in my nice group and one really embarrasing flier (it was the wind, guys...okay??) I usually shoot groups at 25y so I didn't realize until I punched it into the ole MOA calculator to see that's about 2.34" at 25y. Maybe I should have taken a pic even with the flier. I will take it out to shoot one of those NRA 25y targets pretty soon to see what it can do.

Impressive.

I'm too cheap to fork out for the Q5, but I was looking at a 5 inch PPQ M2 today, and it has definitely caught my attention.
