Prairie Fire Classic Multigun - rescheduled to Aug 26\27, 2017

Nice 3 Gun Rig Adriel! What kind of shotgun is that? And have you ever had any cycling issues with it on those Challenger Target loads?

I run Versa Match Tactical and have had occasional cycling issues with one or two low brass target load brands. Can't recall however if it was the Challenger or Clever Mirage T1 Super loads or the brand that comes in the white boxes...which might be the cheaper Winchester loads? Find the Federal target loads run best for me....or any high brass of course.

Local stores near me have been sold out of the Federal target loads for awhile now so just splurged and picked up a case of Winchester AA Super Sport 1 1/8 oz, 3 1/8 dr that haven't test yet....but thinking they should run very well. Winchester was offering a $20 rebate on their AA's so figured this was a good time to give them a try.

It's a Browning A5 (new style, not the old Auto-5.) Reliability has been excellent as of late. The Challenger Handicap Target loads have been OK for me. Most importantly, it's cheap and Cabela's puts it on sale every once in a while and then I do this:

Thx Adriel. That's quite the trunk full you have there :) If I brought anything close to that home my wife would have me looking for a new home:)

Will give all the cheaper target loads another run and pay attention this time to the one (or ones) that i have cycling issues with.

Good luck with yer 3 Gun match today all!

Big thanks to all the sponsors and to everyone who helped make this match happen. The weather was perfect. The stages were super fun. The Mayweather Mcgregor could have been better... haha. But seriously awesome match. The five hour drive was totally worth it.

This vid is going to be painful to watch. I suck and made to many rookie mistakes to count but here it is anyway mostly for the ones that couldn't make it or were on the fence about coming to this match and want to see the stage design:

Thanks for the video Sarge.

I hadn't seen a camera angle like this one before. It really shows the life of the trigger finger. Just guessing from the video, are you running a "mil spec" trigger? I swear I see it overtravelling.

Hey Adam,

I use a Replay XD camera mounted to my ear muffs. It's nice and light. Pretty happy with it.

Ya, my AR is a 16" Core 15 DI from GTO with it's factory trigger. The entry level $1,000 riffle is basically stock, just changed out the handguard and break. I have the biggest pistol grip I could find from Ergo Grip and I still get way to finger through the trigger guard. It would be nice to upgrade one day to a proper 3 gun riffle, however this Core has been great, never had a failure of any kind. I have around 4,000 to 5,000 through it now. I sure had my fingers crossed for the DD M4V7 Pro.

I have also gone to the big Ergo palm swell grip, and don't like shooting ARs without it now. I don't know of any way to achieve a longer trigger pull distance beyond the Ergo grip. Have you tried bending the finger out wide to get the trigger shoe closer to the finger pad?

The rifle was working great for you. I don't think you will see much or any improvement just by going to one from a bigger name.

Just my opinion, but I do feel you would benefit from a nice trigger. I have a used CMC single stage drop-in, PM me if you are interested. Or send a "PFO" if I'm being a jerk, hehe.

I might be able to train myself to get the pad of my finger where it needs to be, but when that buzzer goes, for some strange reason my plan goes out the window! Hahahaha

I measured the distance from the front of the trigger shoe to the back of the grip on my pistol and the AR. The distance with the pistol is over half an inch farther apart than the AR. That's with my big Ergo fatty grip. I am open to all options for sure.

Sorry I missed it (life got in the way). Looks like a great match; a real shooting competition! Not your typical marathon running and reloading contest too often found at southern Alberta 3-gun / multi-gun matches. If there's another next year I'll be sure to do everything possible to attend.
