PRC shooters are like vegans.

The 6.5x55 guys and 6.5cm guys have way more in common then the 6.5x55 guys would ever willingly admit... lol

Not gonna argue that lol. Part of why I would love to do a Win 70 in 6.5 Japanese some day. The reactions would be hilarious.

I keep hearing about people getting preached to about the 300 PRC, I haven't encountered it yet, I don't have a gunstore nearby where I can harass the staff though.

I have to do that online.

I’d have to say I hear way more fudd complaining than I do of people bragging them up.

But since we’re here, what does a 6.5 Rem mag do better than a 6.5 prc? I think the prc has a a few features that make it the better choice between the two, but what do the fudds think?

This fudd started this thread as a joke. Some folks take these things way to seriously. BTW ..... I'm not as think as some fudd I am. :)

This whole thought started for me early in the week when some marketing victim stated how much better a non-belted PRC case was over a belted case. When I called him on that one point he then went into a full route tirade on how much better the PRC was than a 300WinMag on all fronts not mentioning the belt in question. I then asked him who told him that, a marketer or moose hunter. <grin>

What does the 6.5prc do better than the 6.5rem mag? I mean what does this one do better than that one? In the end if you are hunting and this is a hunting thread, it doesn’t frickinn matter. People get carried away with numbers on paper when the real important thing is do you like what you are shooting and are you confident on its ability to do the job that is putting game down ethically! People were shooting game all over the world way way way before the notion of high bc and fast twist barrel, people were and some of us still are hunters not paper shooter or wanna be snipers, we learned to hunt and learned the way of the wood( hahaha that sounds silly as fuk) anyway carry on shoot what you like and shut the fusk up about it lol!

Manbunner shoots a PRC, drives an EV, university educated but works at Starbucks, cooks smash burgers on a Blackstone, owns a rescue dog and brags about that as well.
Ok that made me laugh. Pretty funny cause its true like all of the best jokes.

But the PRC and other modern cartridges like the creedmoor are ballistically superior. The question is do they need to be for your shooting application. If not fudd on with your 30/06 270 or 7 Rem mag. Not a darn thing wrong with any of those cartridges. However you dont see many of them used in fclass PRS benchrest or NRL hunter. Just saying

PS I own and enjoy an old 30/06 for context

But is it true? I would guess no. In fact, I bet the average PRC owner drives a pickup truck, works in the trades, and thinks university is a commie indoctrination camp.

People who are university educated, works at Starbucks OR drive EVs are very rarely gun owners. Finding someone who is all 3 AND a gun owner is rarer than a politician who actually cares about the middle class.

What's wrong with owning and bragging about rescue dogs?

They're effn awesome dogs. Get to watch them go from scared, abused cases to these wonderful members of the family.

Not putting words in supercubs mouth but I THINK, what he was referring to in his post about the manbun, Starbucks etc is that many (most?) people that adored these new “designer” calibres (PRC, Creedmoor) do so because they chase trends (like manbuns, Starbucks, EV’s, etc) and these are the new trendy calibres. That is not to say that there is no Merit to these new chamberings just that many have to have the latest and greatest fad. And then you have guys like me that, had I been around at the time would have called the caplock a fad that will never catch on, flintlocks rule. All depends on one’s priorities and what will make you happy. Doesn’t (or at least SHOULDN’T) matter what anyone else thinks.

Most places ditched tallow over fears of saturated fats - nobody gave a #### about vegans in the early 90s. In fact, McDonald's fries still aren't vegan stateside - they add natural beef flavor to the vegetable oil to simulate the old tallow-fried flavor.

And the majority of smaller places fry meat and fries in the same fryers, so even though they're not using tallow it's still not vegan...

Vegans are annoying but this is hardly why...
that's what the girl working the fish n chip shop told me why they dont run tallow for their fries. all the vegans/people not eating beef.

Nah I find anyone that drives a Mustang. Will let you know thet drive a Mustang and talk about it non stop. Even use them as a excuse why you're 40 min late for a pickup. Because it was raining.
why? the tow truck was late to pull em out of the ditch? or cops took too long to question why they drove into a bunch of by standers leaving the parking lot? XD

Lots of gun owners are university educated. But they don't work at Starbucks because when they went to university they pursued an education path that led to meaningful employment rather than courses about how to be outraged and feel like a victim of society.

It’s a complete insult to gun owners is what it is.

I'm college and university educated, however that dosen't make me or any other person smart. I was only knowable in two disaplines, neither the head of the class. Post-secondary education is an introduction to which a person has an interest, it's the life experience which makes a person more knowable, and only in that branch of knowledge.

Too funny….this subject made 4 pages!😂. Ford vs Dodge vs Chev and my dad’s stringer than yer dad😁. Hunters and shooters are humans and like everything, there’s all kinds…some quiet smart ones, some loud ones (sometimes smart too)…and some that love to share their info (sometimes making a persons ears bleed lol)…and this goes a lot further than the range and hunting.
As per subject, so many calibres out there just like rifles…savages often outshoot guys with fancy rifles. At the end of the day I like a rifle (bolt, lever, small, big, whatever) and that serves the purpose. I think ‘PRC’ (own a 6.5 and 300) can shoot very well….., but also specific to the 6.5 calibre, I also own a creedmoor, a couple 260’s, and a couple 264’s, and love them all when they shoot well. I load and practice at longer distances at times, but lucky enough to have most my hunting inside 100 yds (often inside of 50yds).
I like and appreciate so many calibers from lever in 30-30 up to 45-70/450 and 460 s&w to bolts from 260-300wsm and prc…and including 270 and 308’s for what they are and what they’re not….and pretty much any of them would suit my typical ‘hunting’….but I also often long for and enjoy a good steak (or ribs, or chops, or brisket, or, or, or)😎. Cheers all! Happy Saturday Mormon coming down…enjoy your weekend and be safe.1751727465925.png

Of course. I'm one of them. But the MAJORITY of Canadian adults are not - only about 30% are. And I have no reason to believe gun owners break that trend.

In fact due to fact that gun owners skew rural, whereas university educations skew urban, If anything I would assume gun owners on average are less likely to be university educated than the average Canadian.
